Good Stay, Would definitely stay here again!

Went on a weekend trip with my BF and we really enjoyed ourselves! For the price the room was nice and spacious loved the window in the shower! Walking distance from the White House and plenty of places to eat! Bare burger was our favorite spot to eat! Night life was fun too. Only a 7 mintue drive to U STREET where there are tons of bars! I deff would stay there again!

Everything a great hotel should be!

Pros: Spelled out in my experience.
Cons: No suggestions
Location: Located in bustling area of embassies, restaurants, sights. Great area for walking, seeing embassies, enjoying D.C.
We found the Churchill while simply looking for accommodations near Embassy Row. Trust me, next time I need lodging in that area, I will look to the Churchill first! - Hotel well decorated and charming! - Room was beautiful and comfortable. - Special note for bathroom / shower, which was a real treat! (A great shower experience alone can keep me returning to any hotel!) - Service was outstanding. - Dining was excellent; We had roasted chicken for dinner that was among the best, tastiest I have ever enjoyed! All in all, the Churchill made our visit to Washington, D.C. a real pleasure and I highly recommend it!

Weekend getaway

Pros: The bed was very comfortable. There was no noise and the curtains kept out the light so I was able to get plenty of sleep.
Cons: I couldn't get the temperature of the room to come down. The A/C didn't work right so I turned it off and opened the windows my entire stay.
Location: The Metro is so close to the hotel it made it easy to go every where. We went to the Verizon Center and watched the Capitals play the Flyers.
It was a great experience overall. The room was exactly what we needed and we had plenty of room.

Old school hotel near Dupont Circle

Pros: Good location, near restaurants on Connecticut Ave and around Dupont Circle, good access to public transportation.
Cons: Elevators, slightly dingy ambiance, minimalist lobby.
Location: Not much nearby, but good access to transportation to everything DC has to offer: Smithsonian, Memorials, National Cathedral, etc.
This is a comfortable but older hotel, in need of some upgrades. Judging by the decorative details it is probably about 100 years old, and has a nice vibe. Certainly not more than 3/5 stars. The room was small but functional, updated and nice bathroom. Two small elevators of which only one appears to be in operation, so the wait can be long. The hotel has a full service restaurant, so no simple breakfast is included in most packages, but there is a good bagel shop down the street if you want something quick and cheap. The bus to downtown and beyond stops nearby, and the Metro station at Dupont Circle is a brisk 5-10 minute walk away.

Dear Steven, Thank you for such a thorough review. We appreciate your business and apologize if not everything during the stay was up to your expectations. You were right about the age of the building. It is more than 100 years old and has a great historic value. We want to apologize for the temporary elevator outage that caused a lot of trouble to our guests. We wish this technical issue could be fixed earlier. We are glad you enjoyed the neighborhood and found the easy way to get around. DC offers a great public transportation system and it's easy to use. Thanks again for choosing our hotel and we hope you will consider us at your next visit.

Hotel staff was exceptional and very outgoing. Room size was amazing, bed was comfortable, couch in the living room area was a bit dated, but still okay. Knocking off points for the small size of the bathroom. I know it's an old building and remodeling options may be limited, but oh wow is it small! Hotel is in a great location.

Chruchill Hotel close to Wash DC

The overall stay was very nice. Bathroom layout too tight. Toilet seat was too close to bathroom cabinet - put a pedestal sink well give the necessary room. Everyone was was kind and helpful.

Christmas shopping in DC!

Pros: Everything. Clean, great location, comfortable. There is room service -- we did not avail ourselves of it, but it is a possibility.
Cons: Don't know. Maybe a second sink in the bathroom antechamber. There is a great vanity/counter, mirror, no sink. It's in the shower toilet area.
Location: Right near Dupont Circle and a 10-minute walk to Adams-Morgan. Pretty calm area for sleeping!
I was looking for a good hotel near Dupont Circle and happened upon this one in my Travelocity search. One never knows, but the reviews seemed solid. Could not have asked for a nicer staff or more comfortable room. We received an upgrade upon arrival, which was nice, too. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Dupont Circle, Starbucks, great bagel shop right nearby. Good local cafe/gelato place right nearby, too. Not quite as frenetic as staying right at Dupont Circle can be. A wonderful place to spend the weekend. And, we had a car to park, for which I was going to just take advantage of valet parking, but one of the gentlemen on duty told us that we would be able to park on the street while nearby embassies were closed. We found a spot visible from our hotel window and parked for free for the entire weekend. Nice people!

Great hotel, will stay there again and again

Pros: The size, comfort and cleanliness of the room, the helpfulness of the staff, the charm and comfort of the furnishings in the lobby and in the room.
Cons: Only 1 thing was less than excellent: it took a long time for the 2 elevators to arrive; had to wait several minutes for 1 in the lobby & on my floor.
Location: Located near Dupont Circle that has many very good restaurants, shops, & public trans. & the fantastic Phillips Art Museum is just a short walk away.
This was the first time I stayed at this hotel and had only read about it on travel websites. I decided to try it because it was located near the hotel that was the base for a 3 day conference I was attending, it was reasonably-priced, and it had gotten very positive reviews on the websites I looked at, especially on Travelocity, which also had the best price for it. My experiences there from start to finish were wonderful! I plan to stay there whenever I go back to DC, and I have already recommended it to colleagues and friends who I know go to DC from time to time.
