The good news is that the room was warm, clean and comfortable. In principle I would return to this hotel. The big problem is that on arrival I was asked for more money! This is very damaging to both the reputation of the hotel and that of the booking site (hotels.com). The detail is that I was asked for £5 (room charge £62) to park my car. This charge was not obvious from the website which showed as an amenity "car parking". It did not say "chargeable car parking" or similar. Given that the hotel is in a motorway service station between two junctions the need for car parking is clear. Where I am now is that I have lost confidence in the details put on the hotels.com site. I do not know who is responsible for those details and I do not know whether deep in the small print the charge is explained. I simply do not want to have to scrutinise the small print to check every legal term. I want to assume good faith on everyone's part. I have never had to pay parking charges at either a Days Inn or a Days Inn by Wyndham motorway hotel before. I thought this kind of small print trickery (if indeed the charge is in the small print) had long disappeared. I would ask both the hotel and hotels.com to update the description of the hotel (and others in the group) to make it clear that parking is not included in the price quoted.

Very quiet room considering we were near the m40 Nice friendly staff, attentive, responded promptly to email regarding the lateness of our arrival. Although we had been dropped off and didnt have our car with us, was surprised that we would have been expected to pay for parking. Also the bedroom window wouldnt close after we had opened it in the morning.

Lovely friendly helpful staff. However I booked an accessible room and because of its location it was extremely difficult to get my electric wheel chair into the room independently. Also would have been easier with a walk in shower other than the step in bath to shower

No wifi at all while I was there. No shelves in room for clothes. No plug sockets by the bed, just USB ports which is terrible from a digital security awareness perspective. My card stopped working when I got back to my room & it took a lot to get the attention of staff on reception. They didn’t seem best pleased to help when they finally came out from the back.
