The Space:
Earth & Ember by Tiny Away is a charming nature retreat in Wartook – gateway to the Grampians, where rugged mountain landscapes, scenic lookouts, and outdoor adventures await. Experience a tiny house living in the countryside, surrounded by the elements that make this region so special.
🌊 Water: Discover spectacular waterfalls including Mackenzie Falls, Beehive, Silverband, and Wannon Falls, or explore nearby Lake Wartook, Lake Fyans, and Lake Bellfield.
🌳 Earth: Wander through ancient landscapes of towering sandstone cliffs, rugged rock formations, caves, and scenic trails, while discovering the rich cultural heritage of the Jardwadjali and Djab Wurrung peoples.
🍃 Air: Breathe in the crisp country air and look up at dark, star-filled skies. As night falls, the Milky Way creates a spectacular backdrop for quiet evenings at your tiny home.
🔥 Ember: After a day exploring the ranges, gather around the warmth of a crackling fire, share stories beneath the evening sky, and settle into one of Wartook’s cosy holiday homes.
Inside, the 139-square-foot tiny home has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including split-system air conditioning, a kitchenette with cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. The bathroom features an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste-holding tank, a hand basin, and a gas-heated shower.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're booking for a group, we have 4 tiny homes: "Air @ Earth & Ember", "Earth @ Earth & Ember", "Fire @ Earth & Ember" and "Water @ Earth & Ember" available with 24 hours' notice.
Guest Access:
Main reception centre only restricted during function bookings.

Earth & Ember by Tiny Away is located in Wartook – gateway to Grampians National Park, just 35 minutes from Horsham. Surrounded by rugged landscapes, native wildlife, and peaceful countryside, our tiny house offers an ideal base for exploring the Grampians.
Nearby, Lake Wartook offers opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, while Beehive Falls and Hollow Mountain showcase the region’s sandstone formations, walking trails, and sweeping views.
Discover the area’s rich Aboriginal heritage at Gulgurn Manja Shelter, spot wildflowers and native birdlife in Wartook State Forest, or explore the region through hiking, rock climbing, horseriding, four-wheel driving, and guided tours.
For everyday essentials, the Wartook General Store is just 1.5 km away and open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, offering food, fuel, and a bottle shop. For a wider choice of dining and supplies, Horsham, Halls Gap, Dadwells Bridge, and Stawell are all within easy driving distance.
You can also visit some of the local wineries, farm shops, petting animals, craft displays, lookouts, and walking trails throughout the surrounding region. Just contact us anytime!

By car:
- From Adelaide: 5 hours (470 km)
- From Stawell: 40 minutes (51 km)
- From Horsham: 30 minutes (42 km)
- From Halls Gap: 35 minutes (31 km)
- From Melbourne: 3 hours 20 minutes (289 km)

By public transport:
- No access via public transport or taxi service
Other Things to Note:

- Child-friendly Accommodation
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- No smoking inside, except in designated areas
- Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows and doors when leaving
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge.
- A maximum of 2 pets are allowed with 24 hours’ prior notice, except within Grampians National Park. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. The full pet policy will be sent before arrival.
Safety Notice:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property. Children are welcome under close adult supervision, including a safety guide sent prior to booking.
Mobile Signal:
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Telstra and Optus have good signals while other networks have weak to no signal on the property.
Important note:
- BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Keep an eye out for snakes as the property is located in bushland areas
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
