Isis Prison In Vienna

I've traveled the world and have seen some bad accommodations, but this was truly scary. The minute I checked in I tried calling Expedia and waited for 45 minutes until I gave up. So, I doubt they will allow this to post. The area is really, really, really scary. Checkin area dirty and smelly, filthy, no English. Hallways under construction, exposed everything, no light in hallway, used phone light to find room. Bad smell everywhere. Shoes were sticking to room floor, room hadn't been cleaned well, exposed electrical wiring, fleas in bed, itching all night, took them with me on the rest of my trip, entire room falling apart and dirty everywhere. Again, I can't imagine Expedia allowing this review. The price was $77, which was criminal.

Just Awful

The first room we got put in the door handle came off as we opened the door, there was no head on the shower, or working light in the bathroom for that matter. We complained and got put in a different room. The second room was slightly better but still very grotty. The shower would only be either unbearably boiling hot or unbearably freezing cold, with no middle ground, making washing quite a difficult task. The room had drawers with cigarette ash and butts left in, despite there being no smoking signs both in the room and hallway. It seemed that the rooms dont ever get properly cleaned. From the strong smell of smoke seeping into our room at night and also along the hallways during the day it seems that many of the guests were smoking in their rooms. Including marijuana smoke at before 10am when we were checking out. Even if you're on a budget, you can find far better cheap alternatives than this. The staff were not helpful, the rooms were awful and the fellow guests all seemed as if they were permanent residents not people visiting Vienna.

totally will not recommend this hotel, very far from what int he hotel description, room is very dirty, no lock, when we reach the hotel they fixing the room door lock but still they never fix properly, don't feel safe and secure, the location is quite ok can walk to the nearest train station, the toilet is very dirty looks like nver clean for long not comfortable to use, no aircon and no electrifan inside the room, definitely will not recommend, although its quite cheap but still not worth it.

Worst hotel in my life

We wanted to check in this hotel at 11pm. The receptionist said they are full. I gave my printed reservartion to him and I said I already paid the room. He said they haven't got any empty room. He wanted to give my money back. I said I want my room. The staff were not nice and helpful at all. The receptionist said we need to wait 20 mins, because he need to clean a room. We waited an hour for the room. My boyfriend used the public toilet and the toilet seat MISSED! In our room we hadn't toilet paper and towels. Finally I got 1 towel for two of us. The bathroom looked awful. Hairs everywhere. The sink wasn't cleaned. The floor wasn't hoovered and cleaned. I took pictures about the corridor. I do NOT recommend this hotel for anyone at all!

Yuck

Room was dirty, tv didn't work, wifi not avilable in room, several lights out, including the elevator. Way too expensive for quality of room. Didn't expect the Ritz,but did expect it to be clean and orderly. Recommendation to others - Avoid!

First night - no towels, had to ask at reception. Strong tobacco smell. Big room with many beds, one of the windows can not be locked. Cool and noisy night. Asked for change. Were promised "the best room at the hotel". Tiny room with the same strong tobacco smell. Dirty bathroom, lamp in the corridor absent. In the morning - no hot water. No breakfast. We had four nights reservation, but could not stand more then two. Found that the name of the hotel had changed, it is now not only "Cyrus"", but "Bagdad-Cyrus". Well, if you are heavy smoking Bagdad inhabitant - you may like it. It is not really WIENNA hotel any more...

Awful experience

I would never recommend family to stay here. The place looks shady although the receptionist was pleasant something abt the place is not right. There was also police there when we visited. We were given a hostel kind of room which we did not know about. In the freezing cold of austria this room did not have heater and we almost freeze in the night after paying $100 for one night!! This should not be for more than $45. The room is not clean and bathroom not usable.The doors does not have latch so we did not feel safe in the night.so all n all its a hostel and not a hotel. Families should stay away from this hostel.

I used to stay in this hotel for most of my trips to Vienna. This time was different, it was not as usual . I was told that the management has changed. changed to the worse. No breakfast any more, services is not as it was , rooms condition not as usual, wifi not good , TV not clear with less stations. the only thing good left for this hotel is its location.

Cheap but shabby room

The place was cheap, but unclean, with broken furniture, the room was full of flies, and the bed was uncomfortable with an ancient mattress. The TV didn't work either.

Nice room, conflicting information.

My booking assured my room was secure. When I arrived in was put in a large room as no singles were left. I was told I would need to swap back over tomorrow but no details of a time. Whilst checking in there were a group on young men in reception, one of which tried to talk to me. He asked the man at reception serving me was my room for one person or two. This is found very disconcerting. I awoke at 8.30am to banging at my door. When I answered it no one was there. At 11.30am whilst I was getting ready, loud banging at the door again. I answer to a woman who looked like a member of the cleaning staff. She was talking in a language I did my understanding with a pen and paper in her hand. When I told her I didn't understand she spoke again but in German. I understood the words "reception" and "geld" meaning money. I told her I paid in advance. I had also given the man on reception when booking in a copy of this paperwork but at no time did he log anything. Once I was ready I went to reception. I spoke with different man. He said I would need to come back in one hour to change rooms. the time was 12.30 and this was starting to waste my day. When I arrived back at 1.30pm another man was at reception. He was very helpful. He said the only other rooms available were not singles so no point in moving me for one night. He was also there when I left the next day. This hotel is 10-15 mins walk from Vienna Hauptbahnhof station depending on your pace.

I got to the hotel with my family and got room that was disgusting, dirty, moldy. Blankets were not changed from previous night. Had to go to different hotel. They promised to send refund to Hotels.com but never did and declined any requests for refund. Don't stay in this hotel. This the worst experience I ever had in any hotels in my life.

The room was in poor condition with broken shower and cupboards. There was hair around the room and stains on walls and ceilings. Although advertised as non smoking it most definitely was smoking which was foul and you could not get away from the smell as it came through the vents from other rooms.
