little jewel in the almost-Wienerwald

Lovely hotel at the entrance to the Wienerwald — but with Viennese thoughtfulness right at the end of the U4 subway and across from the Hütteldorf train station. Family-run operation. Lavish breakfast. Clean as if the hotel had started operation yesterday. Simply but tastefully appointed rooms. Excellent dining and drinking opportunities in the immediate vicinity. Just two extremely minor quibbles: (1) if you pay in advance, have your receipt ready on your phone: believe it or not, the front desk doesn’t keep very good track of payments! and (2) the soft-cooked eggs are a bit overcooked…but since this is the case in all European accommodations I’ve encountered, I wonder whether this is the result of EU rules? (the same applies to the disappearance of “resche Semmeln”)…

The hotel is very peaceful, the room was lovely, perfectly clean and has a minibar. The breakfast is excellent and the hotel manager is a genuinely kind and attentive lady. I will definitely come back and I highly recommend it.

Like most Austrian hotels, they do not have air conditioning, so since it was 90 deg F when we visited, it was quite warm. However, that’s not the hotel’s fault. Everything else was great, convenient, and clean! The breakfast was wonderful!

Lovely stay in Vienna.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They gave us a map of the area and local attractions when we first arrived. The hotel is also right next to a train/metro line which was VERY convenient. Our one complaint was that the bed was rather hard and the pillows were very flat. However, the hotel staff gave us extra pillows, which greatly helped.

A very cozy hotel in Vienna

We had a nice stay in this hotel. The whole staff was very friendly. The hotel breakfast was wonderful with a lot of options. We enjoyed the super close proximity to the train station since we didn’t want to drive our rental car to down town.

Wonderful and helpful staff. The facilities are somewhat dated but the room was clean and tidy. Overall I would recommend it for a one or two night stay. Very close to the train station.

Affordable with very convenient location close to metro station. You can reach centre of Vienna in 20 minutes. Rooms small but clean. Caveat,rooms that are located in the front of the street are quite noisy as there is train station just opposite. But the receptionist was very nice and changed our room when we complained about it. Breakfast good, great choice of local cakes

Close to train station- very comfortable.

For the price- hotel is very lovely. Close to the train station- but no noise comes trough the windows. Reception was helpful. Took care of our laguage which was delivered by airline. We will be returning to this hotel for sure. No restaurant but there are few local ones close by and they were good enough.

Would be nice to have a room, secured, for bikes.

Our stay was very good, the people are very friendly, the room and bathroom clean, would be nice if they give you also shampo, the air condition was not working, but we did not need it. The breakfast ist very good. The location perfect. We will go there again.

Nice, not very modern hotel, good for budget-minded travelers. Polite and helpful staff. 100m from the metro station. Breakfast is OK. Next time in Wien, I'll, probably, stay there again.

Hotel? More like B & B!

The hotel offers and advertises free parking but has, at a squeeze, room for only 20 cars. The hotel has 54 rooms. We were lucky and just got in. There are no guest lounge areas. The restaurant is only open for breakfast with no option for a cooked breakfast, only cakes, cereals and cold meats. There is no bar. There are no comfy chairs in the room. To me that is a bed and breakfast. When it came to checking out their credit card machine wasn't working so I had to break into emergency cash reserves. They also don't accept Amex although I reserved the room using that card. I only realised later that we were charged a triple room rate (we wondered why there was a fold-away bed in the room) but the reservation was for a double. I'll have to try to sort that out on my return but I don't hold out much luck as they have taken my cash.

Die Zimmer sind ziemlich runtergekommen. Sehr laut war es. Frühstück Büfett war so lala….aber da war eine sehr nette ältere Dame die sich sofort gekümmert hat, wenn was gefehlt hat. Parkplätze sind viel zu wenig. Im Badezimmer gibt es keine Steckdose und auch keine Möglichkeit mal was hinzuhängen. Betten sind weich und unbequem. Aber dafür war es günstig.
