When I woke at 2am to being cold, I went to the heater at the window. Sign on it said 'Use thermostat'. Went to the thermostat. No lights on the unit or signs of power. Tried all the buttons to turn it on. Then, noticed that the unit had no batteries to even work. So, I froze the rest of the night.
While I was up, I used the bathroom and when I was to flush, the handle didn't work. So, I removed the back lid of the toilet tank and had to reach into the water and pull the chain as it had become disconnected. Attempted to reconnect the chain to the lever but it appeared that the notch it would hook onto had broken. The remainder of the trip I had to pull the chain at the bottom of the tank to flush the toilet. I did not call the front desk as it was 2:30 in the morning.
When I checked out the next morning, I told the clerk all the above. His reply was that the thermostat had power but the housekeeping must've turned it off and forgot to turn it back on when the booking was made. As for the toilet, he said, "sorry".
I left very disappointed.
