This pretty house is in the old town of Ventimiglia which is the mediaeval quarter across the river from the main town. The house has a small paved garden which is shaded by bougainvillea and a large terrace directly overlooking the sea. Please note tourist tax is included in the rent.
The space
This is a house that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. On the 1st floor there is a double bedroom with a kingsize bed and an ensuite bathroom with bath, washbasin and WC. There is also an adjacent dressing room. From the dressing room there is a door that leads out onto the terrace. From the terrace there are stairs leading down to the ground floor garden and there is also an internal spiral staircase leading down to the living room. On the ground floor there is a 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds. There is also a 2nd bathroom that has a shower, bidet, washbasin and WC. The living room has 2 sofas, a linen cupboard, desk, and a dining table and chairs.On the large terrace there are sunbeds and a table and chairs. The garden also has a table and chairs and is shaded by bougainvillea. There is no parking at the house as it's on a lane too narrow for cars but there is free parking in the old town. The beaches are a short journey down the hill by elevator The nearest beaches down the hill are pebbles but there is sandy beach just around the headland which can only be reached on foot and takes about 7 - 10 minutes walk. On this beach there is a restaurant, shower and sunbeds.
Guest access
The house is completely self-contained and is very secure. Access is through a locking metal decorative grill and a heavy locking metal gate. The house is set behind a high wall. All parts of the house are fully accessible to guests. There are very few parking restrictions in the old town of Ventimiglia - it's just a matter of finding a space but there are plenty of places to park around the edge of the old town.
Other things to note
There is a large cupboard containing bed linen and towels. There is an automatic watering system in the garden that comes on once or twice a day depending on the season. The old town of Ventimiglia has many important historic buildings including the cathedral and 4 other churches, a historic library and a thriving community. There are local food shops, a pasticerria, a baker and a pharmacy as well as bars and 4 very good restaurants. A marina has just been completed by the Port of Monaco and the house directly overlooks this marina.
