Nice hotel right next to San Marco square that was also centrally located to all other attractions as well. Would stay here again.

Great location, disappointed guest.

We booked 4 nights, leaving on the first day of carnivale. We paid up to move to suite after seeing our tiny room, not much larger than the bed. It had a musty smell and a hard lumpy mattress. New room had a huge living room with a kitchenette but no utensils. Bed was somewhat better, but not as nice as other hotels we stayed at on this trip. Hotel staff would have gotten a good rating, except that after they told us the first day that they would be glad to post a letter, I saw it still leaning by their mail pile when we left on the 4th day. Staff also neglected to tell us that the streets in front of the hotel would be closed to pedestrians, because of festival security when we wanted to leave.

We are sorry to acknowledge that your stay here in Venice hasn't been as pleasant as planned. We always do our best to help and satisy ouf Guests. The kitchenettes in the rooms have no utensils, but if you needed anything you just had to ask at the reception and our Staff would have been more than happy to satisfy your requests. Also, it is a little bit impossible for us to post a letter or a post card everyday, so we collect a fiew of them and we post them once or twice a week. Definetly not a 4 star hotel

Advertised as 4 star hotel but even by European standards the room was supprizingly in bad shape: dirty walls , mold in the tub knob. It is advertised as a non smoking hotel but the window to the bathroom is right above a rooftop with a handful of fresh cigarettes. On the upside: great location but there are at least 30 other hotels in the same Vicinity, meaning there are other choices.

Great Hotel smack in the middle of Venice

Pros: The room was just great and the staff.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Restaurant and stores as so close by you don't need to go far for anything.
What can I say the Royal San Marco Hotel was in the right spot in Venice go out the front door and go left and piazza San Marcos, go right down the street and you had all these great restaurants and stores did not need to go far for anything and the staff was so professional. Next time I would stay at Royal San Marco Hotel with out a doubt in the world.

Quaint with Excellent Service

Pros: The service provided by the staff. The breakfast is excellent. The room was clean, bed comfortable.
Cons: The bedroom and bathroom were much smaller than we expected. The shower was a tight fit.
Location: Access to water taxis, public water transport, walking tours, shopping and outstanding cafes.
The location of this hotel is excellent for sightseeing, restaurants, and shopping. It is centrally located to water transportation which was a major asset, for getting around. It is a small quiet, charming hotel with very good service. Staff were attentive, courteous and helpful.

Mediocre hotel1

Pros: Location is pretty good overall. A little distance from the train station. Breakfast included and free luggage storage is a plus.
Cons: The rooms need a bit of updating, the bedding was sagging and uncomfortable, bathroom shower is a mess. Broken door, and in poor condition.
Location: Location was pretty good. Not right on the water at the entrance but we did have a small canal view from the room.
The staff was great. Very helpful. We appreciated the breakfast included and free luggage stowage. The disappointment was the condition of the room. Bed was well worn and sagging mattress. Not very comfortable. Bathroom shower and facilities need some attention - they are well worn.
