The extension of the coasts of the provinces of Sassari / Olbia-Tempio Pausania reaches 885 km, which more or less corresponds to an eighth of the total length of the Italian coasts. This masterpiece of nature is a fascinating and varied succession of gulfs, coves and beaches, many of which extend even a few meters. Abandoned in the golden peace like the colors of the sand, in the light shapes of the rocks smoothed by time, clear and absolute like the transparency of the crystalline sea.
For the first few kilometers to the west, the jagged reef is ideal for underwater fishing and exciting dives. Then, at “Ciaccia” (near the village), about 15 km of white sand dunes begin, which end near the Isola Rossa area. Thanks to its size and the scarce colonization of the area, the beach is suitable for young people, couples, families and offers a great variety of choices for spending your holidays: relaxation, movement, solitude and sport. On the beach of San Pietro a Mare, near Valledoria, there are several restaurants, bars, a surf school, a sailing center, another for the rental of pedal boats and canoes and a beach volleyball court.
A few hundred meters north of the Isola Rossa lies the beach of La Marinedda inside a small forest. It is inhabited in part by small molluscs and at one time or another it gives visitors researchers more small corals and other surprises.
On the way to Santa Teresa, the coastal road takes us away from civilization, towards Costa Paradiso. The intensely jagged coasts of red rocks, numerous small woods with white beaches and crystal clear water enchant tourists.
