Cheap and convenient location for Sewanee. Extremely poor lighting. Furnishings are worn and dated. Understandably, smoking fireplace smell. Screened in porch is nice, but it was not clean and had uncomfortable seating. Not enjoyable stay, but appreciated the low cost and convenience.

The two women who checked us in were so pleasant, helpful and very nice. The beds were very comfortable. The room served its purpose with not a lot of hotel options in that area.

The lodge has a unique character and a small-town feel. I enjoyed my one night there, as I embarked on a 3-day road trip. I arrived mid-week, so the restaurant wasn’t open (weekend only). The desk recommended Papa Ron's Italian down the road -- I recommend it, too. All in all, I was comfortable and enjoyed a good night's sleep.

Smokehouse inn is a rustic hotel that could use some upgrades. We were there Thursday through Saturday midday and they never were able to get the Internet connected. Not a huge deal just a little frustrating. The folks at the desk were very friendly and seemed to want to help but didn’t have a IT team in place to fix the problem.

We loved the views from our cabin, the bird calls and greenery of spring. The others staying near us were polite and quiet. The only problem we had was with the door keys/cards. They did not work. Once the maintenance person had to come and help us.
