Wonderful staff

Pros: Location, people.
Cons: Prices, money drop at every turn.
Stayed here recently Fri. through Sun. All staff are absolutely wonderful. They are friendly, smiling, seem to genuinely care that you are having a good time, attentive, nice. Our room (which we upgraded for a price, of course) was ok but I'm not sure I needed to pay an extra $120 a night for a giant living room table and a less than comfy small couch for two of us. Beds are awful and the pillows stink as they are flat no matter how many you pile on the bed. The air conditioner blows directly ON you when you are sleeping so I had to call the house maintenance people to come show me how to turn the air conditioning off so we could sleep at night. Be prepared to be nickled and dimed for everything here. Originally I swear I saw that the "resort fee" is $35 per room per day - well, it is now $50 per room per day and "includes" valet parking (which they say is complementary but it is not as they tacked the previously $21 per day parking fee into the resort fee). I will not stay again any place that charges a resort fee. Seems to me if people want to use said "resort fee" things - then charge them. Or, hey, you're already charging a premium for a not new property - so why not just include some things? All in all, nice, fairly quiet (although you will find that balconies are right next to each other with no separation so you can enjoy listening to your neighbors. Views out to Tucson are stunning.

There's a reason they call it the Ritz...

Pros: Everything! I couldn't find one thing to complain about. The experience was everything I had hoped.
Cons: Perhaps more yoga/pilates classes.
Location: I wasn't thrilled with Tucson (as far as the city), however I did a day drive to Sedona (approx 3.5 hrs each way), and Sedona did NOT disappoint
The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain was hands down the most wonderful hospitality I have ever encountered. Kyle at concierge was an absolute treasure. Ask, and it was given or done at this place. The grounds themselves are stunning, nestled in the mountains, surrounded by all the beautiful terrain. Everything was clean and fresh. The room was absolutely wonderful and a great retreat at the end of a day. The dining was exquisite. Though I did not eat at every venue, the buffalo tacos are nothing short of a taste fusion I will never forget at Ignite! The spa was sensational. A complete oasis in the middle of the Tucson desert! They did not forget one thing at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. The fitness room is acceptable. I was hoping for more available yoga/pilate classes, but only 1 per day were offered at 8AM. The guide on the family AM hike was very knowledgeable and the hike proved to be very educational. I will never forget my experience here. I left feeling refreshed and renewed in mind and body! Hope to be back out again one day to this fabulous gem in the wilderness!

A great family getaway.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, a lot to do on site (hiking spa kid activities), food (turquesa grill & ignite)
The resort sits beautifully within the mountain range. Highlights were the guided hike (thanks Ranger Rick), the indoor/outdoor spa, the waterslide, lunch at Turquesa Grill and dinner at Ignite. The flutist during the Sunset Celebration was truly awesome. The entire family loved it, including my 9 and 12 year old girls.

Great Resort to Get Away From It All

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: Nothing close
My family and I chose the Ritz-Cartlon after an extensive search for resorts on all the major travel websites. We got an excellent deal that included $50 daily resort credit and complimentary breakfast for two. The reason for the trip was as a get away during our daughter's orientation at the UofA. While we were there, we experienced some very pleasant surprises. Having stayed at hotels and resorts all over the world, we found this resort to have one of the best levels of service that we've ever experienced. Simply put, "No" doesn't appear to exist at the Ritz. =) Another pleasant surprise is that it appears that the Ritz has gotten away from the practice of a daily resort fee. The original fee we were quoted was $25/day, but upon arrival, the fee was no longer in effect. Either it was a wise traveler friendly move or they know something we don't. I'm treating it as the former. As a potential guest at the RC Dove Mountain, you have to understand that the location is in Marana, Arizona. To give a better idea, a one-way trip to the University of Arizona was about 35 minutes (with no delays). There are a couple of small shopping plazas about 5 miles away, so if you're looking to do that, it will take some time. Now the positive of the idea: The place is in a secluded spot nestled in the Tortolita mountains and is serene in both its natural surroundings and solitude. Each day we ate at Core restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet is bountiful, with something for everyone. Dinner was down right outstanding and in a couple of cases memorable. Hint: Try the honey-lavender gelato - it's to die for! The RC did have mountain bikes for guest usage. There are some good desert trails to test your skills on. Unfortunately, my daughter took a spill on some hard pack dirt and got quite the road rash. The front desk folks and bellmen pretty much fell over themselves (in a commendable way) to get my daughter patched up (her hand looked like hamburger and she had some major scrapes on her knees and elbows). After the medical treatment we were able to at least hike the trails and enjoy ourselves. The pool is large, but not very deep. Appropriate for families. We didn't really try the lone waterslide, but I can imagine the kids would get a kick out of it. The room we got was nice, and since we had one extra person, a rollaway was brought up. The turndown service was a nice way to end each night, with some small chocolates and water. Speaking of water, the hotel has copious amounts of bottled water available, just go to the front desk and ask. Being that it was summertime in Arizona, you can't have enough of the stuff. Overall, we loved our visit and would go back in a heartbeat! Our hats off to the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain and their staff for making our stay both memorable and throughly enjoyable!

I would visit again in a heartbeat!

Pros: Quiet, attentive staff
The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain Resort was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. Every staff member we encountered was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The attention to detail was incredible; from the artwork on the walls to the menu selections in each of the restaurants. The guest rooms are spacious and well-appointed, each with its own terrace for relaxing and listening to the Native American flute music played each night. The spa was immaculately clean and immediately relaxing, while the golf course was challenging but accessible to a wide range of players. We will definitely visit again soon!

A most amazing and wonderful hotel!!

I struggled to find even one tiny complaint to put on my comment card after my hotel stay. I would love to return to this hotel; it was fabulous and the service was exceptional!

We only spent one night here @ Dove Mountain...it is secluded and the amenities and hospitality is everything you'd expect from the Ritz Carlton. You are never left searching for someone to help you, they find you. The beds are comfortable, the bathtub is large enough for two (only thing missing was the bubble bath), towels plentiful, large flat screen, internet access (a little pricey) but all in all a wonderful stay. We had some monsoon activity and it was wonderful enjoying the rain under the balcony as we ate dinner @ Ignite. Wonderful stay!!

Cakebread wines, GREAT!

Golf course has stunning views, but not for the faint hearted golfer, tough course and greens. Food was very good. Service from the staff was exceptional. My bed was so comfortable I did not move a muscle until waking up the next morning. Wear your sunscreen protection here and bring a jacket along for the desert night, gets pretty chilly. The wine list was very very good and so was the Cakebread, Dancing Bear. Thank you for the great experience and all the smiles from your staff.
