This property is very clean, maintained, and well located. That’s where the pro’s end. We were in room 302 (junior suite, I believe) and it was situated next to the breakfast area. From 6:30 am every morning we were woken up by clanking plates, crashing sounds, and staff talking extremely loudly. We could hear the front desk staff talking with the air on and our door closed. Every morning around 8am we got a knock on the door from housekeeping which is frustratingly early, and one morning, we were interrupted 3 times in 20 minutes to clean our room after asking to be skipped for the day after the first knock, and then a call from the front desk asking when we would allow our room to be cleaned. In our last evening we had a wine tasting scheduled so we asked the front desk if they could help us arrange a taxi, the girl dismissively said sure and handed us a card and said, “just do it yourself.” While this place is clean and nice looking, the staff is terrible and room 302 should NEVER be used as a hotel room.

A short walk to the beach. Stairs are tough but if you didn’t know Tropea has stairs that’s on you. The Colomba D’Oro was better than advertised.

Gem of a stay in Tropea

What a great stay in Tropea … just minutes walk into the center of the city. Parking can be problematic but parking in a garage is offered ( if requested and for a small fee). The breakfast offered was great and fresh coffee is made upon request.
