Not great!

This hotel’s main attraction is its location and excellent staff. They provide meals (breakfast, tea and dinner - not sure about lunch). Some may find that an attraction. For us only breakfast mattered and that was good. The hotel itself seriously needs an upgrade. The beds are small and mattress uncomfortable, the carpets are worn and grotty and there is no storage nor closets. There are other better options including other Clarion hotels in the vicinity.

Conveniently situated hotel overlooking the harbour. Within walking distance of shops, restaurants, tour operators and sites of interest. Staff are very friendly and efficient. I’d happily stay here again!

Room was like a hostel

We arrived - the staff were amazing. We went to our room. Total disappointment when opening the door. The room had grubby carpet. Small bathroom and only shower gel no hair products. Worse there is no storage - we had to live out of our suitcase literally for 4 days. We asked to change rooms to one without carpet as my daughter has allergies and they were immediately triggered by the carpet. This was facilitated extremely efficiently. The replacement room was exactly the same but without carpet and if you don’t pay to Upgrade to overlook the bins!!!! The room wasn’t cleaned the 4 nights we were there - unless you pay extra. Sheets not being changed is fine but 4 nights with the same tiny towels was not great. The breakfast is fine. We only ate dinner there once as it was cold and not very tasty. The afternoon cake is the same every day. The saving grace for the hotel is the staff and the location.

The good things people say about this hotel are all true: the included breakfast and dinner are great, the ability to use a sauna is fantastic, the front desk has always been friendly and helpful. The view of the water is fantastic, and the location could not be any better. I have a few minor complaints, however: the water from the shower was lukewarm my entire stay, and the drain in my shower drained slowly so that water pooled around my feet. The staff is said to clean your room every other day, but I've found that they've probably visited only three or four times during my eighteen night stay. There is not a lot of storage space, and the bed frame and mattress both tend to slide around a lot, requiring constant adjustment. The furniture in the hotel can use an update, and a lot of the furnishings and decor have definitely seen better days. With all of that said, my stay here at the With was a mostly comfortable one, with just a few minor complaints here and there. The staff was most accommodating for helping me with my taxi booking and other questions regarding the Svipper bus app. I think if there was a remodeling/deep cleaning/total maintenance overhaul for the hotel, and if the staff cleaned every two or three days as a schedule and not, what appeared to me to be at least, a random occurrence, I think the Hotel With could be a truly excellent experience. Yet again, I will said, I am mostly satisfied, and would be glad to book at the With once again.

The view from the hotel is amazing..we had booked a room with the view and it was worth it..quite close to the bus stops and walking distance to most of the places..all the sight seeing meeting points are less than a 5 minute walk. There is a direct bus from the airport to the Scandic hotel close by..so on a summer day it's perfect..we went in November .. there was ice all over, and on top of that it snowed and rained for two days so it was slushy and wet and slippery..and we went with a big suitcase so lugging it from the bus stop even if it's only a few hundred meters was horrible..and there is no service to take the luggage to the stop from the hotel either..taxi might have been a better option if we hadn't already bought the return ticket for the fly bussen to the airport The hotel provided free breakfast and dinner and evening tea and cake..which was really good..it said a light evening meal in the website so we thought it was going to be a soup or something but they had a soup? 3 different salads, rice and some protein..which was unexpected... so we were pleasantly surprised...they even had cake for evening tea free of cost.. The rooms had the necessities..quite small no frills, but the view made up for everything... on the whole the loved my stay in tromso..
