Great location close to shops, restaurants and tours. Hotel staff friendly and courteous and have a smorgasbord breakfast at adjoining Bistro for 16 euro. Big disappointment was the quality of food and lack of fresh fruit and vegetables. Had dinner at three different venues around hotel with very average offerings at high price (20 - 30 Euros each).

Watch out for unknown charges when you check in

Hotel did not tell us we had to pay a city tax until we left. Why did they not charge us this when we checked it??? Normally you can leave a hotel without checking out. We travel all over the world.

We enjoyed our stay at the Modernist Hotel. Easy access to many areas! Room was large and comfortable. We felt bad because bathroom floor does flood a bit when taking a shower.

A lovely stay and great staff

The property is very clean and well-cared for. The location is also excellent, and we appreciated having enough space for both of our suitcases. The staff was also very lovely. Our "issue" (and it's not a really big deal at all) is that the "Modernist" design so touted by the ads, was just really hokey, and even looked a bit cheap. The light fixtures in the room were WAY too bright, and the hallways were just a bit grim. Of course, this is very subjective.

Room was sub-standard, TV channels didn't work, I think I found two which worked, window may as well have been open when closed, so noisy even with it closed. Heating/Cooling didn't work, I turned it off and still had to open the window while sleeping = no sleep at all due to the noise. Plumbing loud, i could hear when people flushed their toilet next door/upstairs. Only one towel provided, bar service disorganisednot amazing, better hotels nearby
