Historical New England 2Bedroom with 2 King beds Brick Building

Beautiful 1850's 2 bedroom historical brick house, located 2 minutes drive to downtown Brunswick and Topsham Malls. Less than 5 minutes drive to Bowdion College, walkable to downtown, restaurants (blue berry, sea dog, ect), beautiful water front trail for morning jogging or dog walking. We have beautiful antique period correct furnitures, and remarkable art works from my ancestors who is an artist in early 1900. The house has period correct features including wide plank pine wood floors, large windows, high ceiling, mansard roof and staircases. Transcend yourself into 1850 :-)

Family visit

The listing reflecting a family home, but it was only a portion of a home that was divided into individual units attached to the home. Uninhabitable due to age and deteriation. We rented the home to share family dinners and visit with our daughters family and greatgrandchildren. The front door and stair entrance was damaged, no railing, and unstable. The property was located on a very busy highway with no fencing. Several safety hazards needed attention to. Please contact me for further details. We made the best of the visit and love the state of Maine.

Location was not great if you like tranquility / Some amenities not quite as stated

We stayed here for eight nights to be close to family. While the house was sparkling clean and lovingly styled and the beds comfy, we did not enjoy the house's location just feet from a busy, loud two-lane road (as it turns out, pretty much the main road into Topsham) that bears a surprising amount of car- and truck traffic exceeding the speed limit day and night. We would not recommend this house to those with children for that reason (safety) or to anyone who would prefer a more tranquil setting. We remarked on returning home to NYC that our city street is actually quieter. Also, we arrived during a heatwave. Only the two bedrooms (upstairs) have window units despite the house being listed as having A/C, so it was very hot downstairs, even though we used the fans that had been provided. Yes, there is a yard, as listed, but sitting out front with traffic flying by would not have been relaxing. Overall, the house served its purpose primarily due to its proximity to family, but it was fairly expensive and not entirely accurately listed for the reasons stated. If it weren't for the traffic and the somewhat misleadingly listed amenities, we would have given it four stars, because it was so clean and had comfortable beds.

Great family getaway!

We had a great experience at this house. It was centrally located to a lot of the sites that we wanted to see and near a lot of really great restaurants only a few minutes away. The owner was very quick in getting back to me when I had questions and was very accommodating for all that we needed!
