On arrival, there was no key and the property looked broken into. There were dirty shoes and trashbags in the main room that we could see through the window. There were lights on in the back rooms. Owner (3 names were listed - one in the chat, one on the property page, and one on the voicemail we tried calling) was completely unresponsive for several days. Given the layout we COULD see through the windows, we reported the incident to local authorities and VRBO's support team. With the owner unresponsive not just on arrival, but for the remaining several days, I'd say they are booking this place out to multiple folks, mismanaged it, or were infact victim of a breakin. The total lack of communication throughout the entire 3 day stay was a surprise. I would not recommend booking with this group. I would recommend, however, reaching out to VRBO's support team if you find yourself in a similar position. They covered the cost of the hotel we had to book that night, and I believe refunded the stay - this is pending to my knowledge (no confirmation from support), so I chose to contest it directly through my credit card company (I'd also generally recommend doing this). Anyways, definitely a stressful start to a good weekend and the other reviews referencing lack of communication turned out to be true unfortunately (attempts via VRBO chat, email, and direct calls were made - no responses as of 1 week past arrival date).
