Haiku House on Saba Island - The unspoiled Queen of the Caribbean

Haiku House is considered as one of the most exceptional private villas on Saba Island in the Dutch Caribbean, part of the carefully curated Iconic Estates collection. Integrated into the lush hillside and surrounded by tropical greenery, the villa feels naturally secluded, with a unique sense of calm, discretion and privacy.

Our private concierge will meet you at the property and provide all the necessary details. They will show you the property and answer any questions you may have. Our concierge speaks English and Spanish, our head office is able to support you in English, German, French, Italian and Dutch.

Located along scenic Troy Hill Road in The Bottom, this neighborhood offers guests a peaceful island atmosphere surrounded by lush green hills, dramatic volcanic landscapes, and sweeping Caribbean Sea views. Visitors can enjoy the authentic charm of Saba’s small local community while being just a short drive from hiking trails, dive shops, restaurants, and the quaint village center. The area is known for its quiet surroundings, cool mountain breezes, and easy access to the island’s famous nature experiences, making it an ideal retreat for travelers seeking relaxation, adventure, and a more authentic Caribbean escape.

You will have full access to everything at the property.

The interior was designed by a renowned Dutch Designer, and the house's timber style was designed by a Japanese designer. The style is unique to this island.

You will usually require a rental vehicle to move around the Island. There is also the option to travel to the island by private helicopter or private yacht.

Stunning views, expansive decks and a beautifully positioned pool define the experience, while large glass sliding doors create an effortless connection between the interior and surrounding landscape.

Part of the wider Haiku House series, it was designed as a pioneering expression of timber architecture and innovative engineering. Distinct from the island’s traditional architectural language, Haiku House is exceptional in both concept and appearance and has managed to blend seamlessly into its natural setting for already over thirty years.

Haiku House offers a breathtaking setting for many kinds of stay. It is as suited to a solitary retreat for writing, reflection or creative focus as it is to an intimate stay for two, or gathering with family or close friends surrounded by beauty, space and complete discretion. Though local shops and restaurants run by friendly locals are still within easy reach.

Its interior was originally designed by renowned Dutch designer Jan des Bouvrie, adding a layer of outstanding Dutch design heritage. Over the years, Haiku House has been frequented many times by various international artists, film icons and other celebrities, such as the Dutch Royal Family, reinforcing its place as one of the island’s most distinctive private residences.
