Wake up to uninterrupted views across Lake Eildon, surrounded by native bushland, abundant wildlife and the peaceful beauty of Taylor Bay.
Set on a private acre at the end of Taylor Bay Left Arm Road, Lakeside Abode is a beautifully refreshed Canadian Pan Abode cedar cabin in picturesque Kookaburra Cove. With deep-water frontage, the lake is right at your doorstep — perfect for swimming, fishing, kayaking, water sports or simply sitting back and enjoying the lake views.
Close to Melbourne yet wonderfully secluded, Lakeside Abode is made for relaxing weekends, family holidays and time away with friends.
The home has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of its spectacular setting. Vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows fill the home with natural light and frame beautiful views of Lake Eildon and the surrounding native bushland.
The spacious open-plan living and dining area opens onto a large timber deck, creating an effortless indoor-outdoor space for long lunches, sunset drinks and lazy afternoons. Inside, the warmth and character of the classic cedar cabin are complemented by contemporary comforts, custom-made furniture and comfortable leather lounges. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in, switch off and genuinely enjoy being together.

The fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering easy. The kitchen includes a 900mm gas cooktop and oven, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, rice cooker and sandwich grill. There’s also a BBQ for relaxed outdoor meals overlooking the lake.
One of the unique pleasures of Lakeside Abode is the wildlife that shares the property. Kangaroos, parrots, rosellas, cockatoos and kookaburras are frequent visitors, creating a wonderful bush experience right outside your door. We provide bird seed, and don’t be surprised if some of the colourful locals come close enough to feed from your hand.
With deep-water frontage, the lake remains accessible regardless of water level. Spend your days swimming, fishing, kayaking or enjoying water sports, or simply find a quiet spot by the water and take in the serenity.
There is no jetty or pontoon at the property, however guests are welcome to moor their boat at the front of the property using the provided mooring stakes. There is plenty of room to turn a boat around and store a trailer on the property. For boat launching, we recommend the Alliance Boat Ramp in Eildon or the Main Ramp at Lake Eildon National Park.
Lakeside Abode is located at the end of Taylor Bay Left Arm Road. Please note that the final three km of the journey is along an unsealed gravel road. The property is accessible by 2WD, with undercover parking for two vehicles. If you are towing a boat, we recommend a 4WD or AWD for easier access.
Whether you’re looking for an active weekend on the water, a peaceful bush retreat or simply a beautiful place to reconnect with family and friends, Lakeside Abode offers the perfect combination of comfort, nature and genuine lakefront living. Cosy up beside the wood fire in winter. Spend summer afternoons on the deck lounging in the hammocks. Get out on the water during the day, then return and watch the sunset over Lake Eildon.
Pets are welcome, although please note that the property is not fenced.
Early check-in and/or late check-out are often possible and will be confirmed a few days before your stay.
Come and experience the serenity of Lakeside Abode — a private slice of Lake Eildon where the view, the wildlife and the lake are all part of your stay.
