Nice hotel, centrally located, short walk to the metro. The room was sparkly clean. The only area of improvement is the slow elevator. Other than that, everything was great.

One elevator working out of four at times. No more than two elevators out of four working. The ones that are working would stop at floors that are not called. The air conditioning blows hot air, and could not cool down the room. The phone unit in the room, by the bedside, was inoperable and upon the inquiry to hotel management, they sent a repair guy who was not in uniform but in civilian attire with a satchel of screwdrivers and pliers. He unplugged and plugged the phone, from the wall, then the headset from the phone unit, all the common troubleshooting that I have already done before I called them for help. He then goes on to inform me that the phone unit is “kerdik” which is I guess Uzbek for “over” or “finished”, and he goes on to tell me that they won’t be replacing it because they don’t have it in stock, they don’t have other desk phones and that there is a wall phone unit in the bathroom that I can use to call the front desk. Pool area at the back of the property is only accessible by walking through a restaurant area that serves the free breakfast only, but when it is outside of the breakfast hours of 7-10 in the morning restaurant area is closed to guests, and staffers would yell, argue, and prevent guest from entering through outside the breakfast hours, so the pool area was not, and could not be used and was empty of guests during my stay. The bar in the lobby closes at 11:30 in the evening, such oddity, there is a grand piano at the bar area that you can’t play.

Overall, the service was good, and I appreciated the breakfast. However, the Wi-Fi connection in my room (No. 1018) was very poor—there was almost no connectivity throughout the day. I hope you can improve the Wi-Fi, as that would definitely earn an extra star from me.

Just Plain Shamelessly BAD

If you like things Soviet style? then... Cons: 1) weak, 100% unusable WiFi; 2) stomach-turning food at breakfast for any and all room service items from the empty, slophouse on-site restaurant; 3) four elevators that keep you waiting for 10 minutes to come; 4) CAC that only blows warm air during 80 deg (Fahrenheit)/ 27 deg Celsius weather while the windows also can not be opened; 5) Notes instructing you (in a so-called, modern/Western hotel?) to leave all "used toilet paper in trash basket/ not flush down toilet"; 6) a generally inept, unrefined, and disinterested staff... and, to be fair, PROS: quiet room; good central location; nice drapes

The location is solid—right in the center and close to most things. The rooms are spacious, but the bed situation is disappointing. What’s advertised as a king bed is actually just two twins pushed together, and the gap in the middle is noticeable and uncomfortable. The real issue, though, was the staff. Every night, there was a ridiculously long line at check-in, and people waiting looked understandably frustrated. I can relate since my check-in took over 30 minutes, and checkout took nearly 40. The staff seemed overwhelmed or perhaps just not trained well enough to handle things efficiently. I once saw five guys behind the desk, but only one seemed to be doing any work while the rest just stood around. Breakfast was decent, but the dining area was too crowded and lacked enough seating. Overall, the location and room size are good, but the service left a lot to be desired.
