great bungalows, great pool, great view

we've been there the second time, (the first time 5 years ago without kids). the place is very qiet and relaxed, the bungalow spacious and very clean (lunasole). the pool area is very spacious with superb view to aetna volcano. you need a rental car, shops and restaurants are within a few kms.

Perfect for our whole family

We had our family of 8 adults stay at this charming villa. The property are exactly like the pictures show. The house manager, Monica is always available to help. The host and everyone are quite charming. And the family chef made us a wonderful dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

Just what our family needed.

This is a large, open and private villa that was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the pool and the views of the landscape. It is so quiet here. Our whole family slept very well and were able to get anything we needed from the town which was a short drive in. We made some great memories here. Regards

Wonderful

Beautiful grounds and pool. Common areas and rooms were a bit more rustic but in a very appealing way. No TV but a plus if you actually want to talk with your friends/family. An amazing view of Mount Etna which had smoke coming out two of the days we were there.

Paradise near Taormina

We loved our stay at La Luna. It was so special to be able to swim under the watchful eye of butterflies, birds and Mt Etna. Walking into the village nearby was a treat. Wonderful granita and smiles all around. Monica, the house manager, welcomed us like family. We hope to return one day soon to uncover more Taormina treasures in this area. Thank you, Gabriele and Monica for a memorable, comfortable and relaxing stay.

This property was beautiful and the hosts were wonderful and gave excellent recommendations for dining but the best meals were those cooked by the awesome women, Antonella and Maria Francesca! Best lemoncello ever!! I will always remember the wonderful mornings drinking coffee and looking at the volcano and then taking a dip in the pool. It was idyllic!🍋 What a wonderful place to stay and a great place to make memories that will last a lifetime ! Thank you

Could not have been nicer. The host was most helpful and responsive. He arranged for a crib and a highchair for us for e ample. We were looking for a chef and he arranged for his family cook to prepare dinners. Food was excellent and very fresh, with local ingredients used, and plentiful. Rooms were spacious and the outside eating area was large and covered (we had rain one night but it was not a problem) and it was a real pleasure to eat outside. Beautiful limes were just getting ready to be picked. We could have accommodated many more people than the 8 adults and 2 children we were and we would recommend this property for adults or families without hesitation.

This is a beautiful villa in a stunning rustic location that works really well for a big group looking for in a private setting away from the madness of Taormina. It’s close enough (20 min drive) to go for dinner and sightseeing, but honestly so much more pleasant than staying among the throngs of tourists. The kitchen and outdoor eating areas worked really well for group meals and hanging out. The swimming pools are very nice with amazing views of Mt Etna. There’s not much in Trappitello, the nearby town, but there is a small grocery store and a good place for fish. We ended up doing big shops in Giardini Naxos. Everything at the property was tasteful and comfortable and clean. Note that air conditioning isn't included but it’s available and it was definitely necessary to be comfortable the time of year we stayed (June). Due to parking challenges jn Taormina we sometimes took an uber which was less hassle than driving to Taormina. It was easier to park in Giardini Naxos but we could also get a van for 6 for 20 euros so sometimes did that if we were going out. Overall it was a great place that we would love to return to.

Beautiful place

We spend a week in cottage Luna. The cottage has 2 spacious bedrooms + 2 places to sleep for children and a small livingroom/kitchen. The property is very well maintained, especially the outside area and the spacious pool. The owner is very friendly and Monica explained us what to do in the area. The place is around 20 min drive away from Taormina, the most beautiful town in Sicily. We had the whole property for ourselves, which was a bit of a pity for the children who would have loved to meet others to play with.

Une semaine de rêve...

Monica nous a accueillis très chaleureusement dans un havre de paix avec un jardin d'exception, très fleuri et entouré de citronniers en fruits et bordé de palmiers. De la piscine royale et magnifique, nous avions une vue splendide sur l'Etna. Grace à un grand patio ombragé, les abords de cette piscine étaient un lieu idéal au farniente et à la lecture, sans oublier l'apéro. Même pour les enfants, une petite plaine de jeux, à vue des parents. L'air conditionné dans toutes les pièces est un atout incontestable vu les hautes températures de jour comme de nuit. La propriété est complètement fermée et sécurisée. Une très bonne expérience à recommander !

Schöne ruhige Anlage mit tollem Pool

Unkompliziertes Check in, die Managerin Monica hat uns einige Tipps für Unternehmungen gegeben. Der Pool mit Ätna Blick ist schöner als auf den Fotos. Einziger Nachteil war der dürftige Ausstattung der Küche.

Rustic charm

This property is in a beautiful setting, with views of Etna and lots of lemon / grapefruit / orange trees surrounding a large pool. The accommodation itself is fairly basic but perfectly adequate. The check-in process was great and Monica provides a great guide to local facilities and attractions. The local town, Trappitello is a short walk away but is fairly basic but there is a great little restaurant to left of the property as you leave it - 150m walk max. Overall a great find.

Lovely pool and very accommodating hosts

The accommodation was very clean and well provided for. Monica was very helpful and responsive to any request. For our family of two small children, we found the facilities were excellent - lovely pool and small climbing gym. The area was a short drive to Taormina and other highlighted tourist areas and the little town itself was great.

Some much better than description

Fabulous location and room for our family. Close to the beach, town and Taoromina. The host helped us translate when our luggage didn't arrive and helped us order our fabulous taxi driver for our special event. The pool was fabulous and having a washer saved us since we only had a change of clothing for the first 5 days. This location is perfect for multiple families and can be opened up to the location next door. I loved hearing the goats who were up in the hills. I would come back to stay. Everyone was so kind. Thank you.

A lovely spot in the countryside outside Taormina

Totally enjoyed returning to our cottage after the day out exploring the surrounding countryside and city of Taormina. Taormina close enough to get into for dinner and for a days outing there, however, returning to the quiet of out cottage was a welcome refrain. The proximity to swim in the nearby gorge and other local attractions (ie Etna) was also a feature of staying in the cottage. We would certainly return and stay longer. BTW Staff and all involved extremely helpful in every way.

Perfect!!!

We arrived late in the evening and still were greeted at the gate by Monica who not only gave us a tour of the property but also provided a number of wonderful recommendations for things to see and places to eat...all of her recommendations were amazing! We spend each morning site seeing or at the beautiful sand beach with calm clear water for swimming that was about a 5 minute drive away but the pool with the gorgeous view of Mt. Etna drew us back every afternoon. I am already thinking of when I could return. The cottage itself was also very comfortable and well stocked with everything you might need. I would go back again and again.

An Oasis beneath a smouldering Mount Etna

My husband, myself and our 11 year old son have just returned from two fabulous weeks staying in Cottage Luna. The location is absolutely breathtaking, the pool and sitting area around it the best we have ever experienced, and the accommodation all we could ask for for our 2 weeks away. Monica, the House Keeper, couldn't do enough for us, and was only a text away if we needed anything more, and whilst we spent much of our time just reading and dipping in and out of the pool, it was also a great base for where we wanted to go to explore. Taormina is definitely worth a visit, and the restaurants recommended to us by Monica, well worth a trip too. Plus, despite speaking no Italian ourselves, the Sicilians are just lovely lovely people. We would definitely like to return to Luna again, and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay off the East coast of Sicily. Thank you Gabriel and Monica. Fantastic Villa & Amazing View to Aetna

We have recently stayed at Villa Lunasole for 7 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is a very comfortable home with beautifully kept garden and swimming pool and the most amazing view to the Aetna in the distance. The Villa was very clean and the pool has a good size and was very clean and well maintained during our stay. Restaurants and Supermarkets are only 5 minutes away in the local town. Just 15 minutes away you will find Taormina one of my favorite town with a great view to the sea and Aetna and the amazing ancient theatre. I would prefer to rent a car to see all the sights in the near. I can highly recommend this accommodation!

We have just completed a fantastic one week stay at Le Case Principe near Taormina. Ideal for families, the complex consists of 5 self-catering villas and a fabulous big swimming pool. Well located to do the sights of Taormina, Giardini Naxos, Etna and Catania but also good for just relaxing by the pool and doing nothing. The local town has some wonderful patisserie/gelato shops and there are two decent sized supermarkets near by. We particularly enjoyed the heard of goats that comes past on the road outside twice a day with their "shepherd" running behind. A car is essential but in my view (having stayed in hotels in Taormina itself many times) this is much preferable to the heat and noise of the town.

great bungalows, great pool, great view

we've been there the second time, (the first time 5 years ago without kids). the place is very qiet and relaxed, the bungalow spacious and very clean (lunasole). the pool area is very spacious with superb view to aetna volcano. you need a rental car, shops and restaurants are within a few kms.

Lunasole review

Overall, we had an excellent experience staying in Lunasole. Gabriele welcomed us and showed us where to shop and dine in the neighborhood, and he had excellent suggestions for sightseeing in the area. We were especially grateful for his suggestion to visit the 12th century Basilica of S. Pietro e S. Paolo in the country just north of Taormina which is not included in any guide we had with us. The accommodations were comfortable, clean and stylish, and the resort is located in a bucolic setting about a 15-minute drive from Taormina. I would recommend a stay at this resort without reservation.
