THE EXPERIENCE

THE LAYOUT
Three-story home with entry at the top floor and bedrooms on the levels below There are a significant number of stairs throughout the home. Guests should be comfortable navigating multiple flights to fully enjoy the space. Every bedroom and every bathroom in this home has a direct water view
TOP FLOOR — Kitchen, Great Room, and Half Bath
The great room opens with panoramic water views from side to side facing south across Commencement Bay The home faces south, which means sunrise over Mount Rainier comes through the front windows every clear morning and sunset moves across the water to the right in the evening Step out through the kitchen onto the water-facing deck to have your coffee above the Sound A second side deck offers a shaded spot for the BBQ and outdoor dining, sheltered from the afternoon sun Half bath on this level for guest convenience
MIDDLE FLOOR — Master Suite and Ensuite bathroom (plus a locked off room that is private for the owner - no one else uses it)
The master bedroom faces the water directly, with its own TV and the Sound as your view from bed The master bathroom features a spacious shower and a spa jetted tub A fireplace sits between the master bedroom and master bathroom. Soak in the jetted tub with the fire going and the water in the window.
LOWER FLOOR — Bunk Room, Bath, Family Room, Patio, and Kayaks
The family room on this level is a comfortable secondary gathering space with a TV and water views. The 2nd bedroom is a queen bed with waterfront views. The third bedroom is a bunk room, perfect for kids or a group happy to bunk up Full bathroom on this level Water views carry all the way down to this floor Step out from the lower level onto the patio, where a small stretch of turf gives you a ground-level outdoor space right above the beach Two kayaks are available for guest use, complete with life jackets and paddles. Launch directly onto Puget Sound from your own backyard. This is not a kayak rental situation. The kayaks are yours for the stay. Paddle out at sunrise, circle the point, and watch the seals from the water.
THE WATERFRONT AND BEACH
A retaining wall at the edge of the backyard separates the yard from the pebble beach below When the tide is in, the water reaches the top of the wall. The Sound is that close. When the tide goes out, the beach opens up for exploring, wildlife watching, and taking in the full sweep of the bay Beach access is via a walkway down from the property. The steps have been worn over time by tidal activity. Use the walkway carefully, wear appropriate footwear, and take your time. The beach is worth it. Seals and sea lions swim past regularly. Whales have been spotted breaching from this property. Keep your eyes on the water. Please read the waterfront safety section in the house rules before letting children near the wall or on the beach
THE WILDLIFE
Seals and sea lions swim past the property on a regular basis, close enough to watch from the yard, the deck, or inside through the windows Whales have been spotted breaching from this property. Keep your eyes on the water and you may get lucky. Kayaking out into the bay puts you directly in their world. Paddle quietly and they will often come closer than you expect. This is a working waterfront ecosystem, not a decorative one. The Pacific Northwest shows up here in a way most guests have never experienced from a vacation rental.

GOOD TO KNOW
This is a three-story home with multiple flights of stairs. Guests should be fully comfortable navigating stairs throughout the stay. Two kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are provided for guest use at no additional charge. Guests use the kayaks at their own risk. Life jackets must be worn on the water, though they may not fit all sizes of adults and children. The walkway leading down to the beach has steps that have been worn by tidal erosion over time. Exercise caution, and wear closed-toe shoes with good grip when accessing the beach. The retaining wall is a viewing feature, not a place to sit or stand. Children must be supervised near the wall and water at all times. Tide levels change quickly. The beach can go from accessible to submerged within an hour. Check local tide charts to plan your time on the beach. Parking is in the driveway, which fits up to 4 compact vehicles. Large SUVs may not fit. Rideshare is a great option. Our street is a narrow residential street. Drive slowly when approaching the property.
