It doesnt get much flatter than the Tablelands Hwy 11 in Barkley Tablelands!
I was astounded by just how arid and flat it was, I truly love landscapes like this - nothing makes you feel more like you have escaped reality than staring off into the distance on an endless plain.
A highlight was a small dam or waterhole on the side of the hwy where I saw my first wild Brolgas, a huge and impressive Australian bird.
There are lots of road trains up here as you get into cattle country so drive to the conditions and always slow down and give them plenty of space on this just a bit bigger than single lane hwy!
Throwback to last Spring when I road tripped through the Red Centre of Australia. The flowers were just beginning to open, bright bursts of colour against the rusty red of the dirt.
No filters needed for these shots!
