In the pedestrian zone, is the apartment, renovated in 2013, at the second floor of historic building, with an entrance hall and staircase is in Art Nouveau. Very bright and with air-conditioning in the rooms. With two balconies overlooking Via Del Crocefisso. It consists of large entrance, by which you go in the living room (25sqm) with single or double sofa bed, double bedroom (27 sqm), bathroom with tub and shower, kitchen, furnished and equipped with everything needed for cooking and dining, kitchen with oven, fridge and washing machine, sink two wells. A level terrace with table, chairs and umbrella. Linen and final cleaning included. At 150 meters above the cliff of Ortigia and platforms (see photo) allow you to combine the cultural trip to the possibility (for adults and children) you sunbathe and swim a few steps from home. In the evening, as well as numerous local often with live music, the Arena Maniace guarantees nightlife and / or shows.

Excellent location near many restaurants and tourist areas. Shops all along the way. Apartment was very roomy and large by Italian standards. All amenities were provided, especially the toilet paper. apartment needs a decent coffee pot for Americans.

We loved Elena’s apartment. It was spacious and furnished with lovely antiques and everything we needed in the kitchen. The bed was comfortable and the windows shut out the noise from the busy restaurant below. The patio lined with plants was a favorite spot for breakfast. We enjoyed the neighborhood near interesting sites like the church of San Filipino Apostolo and the puppet theater. Just be aware that it is on the top floor with no elevator.

Very comfortable place to stay in Ortigia

Great place to stay. Can't get any more central on Ortigia. The apartment is very comfortable and contains everything needed. We especially enjoyed the patio. The host is very good at communicating and very helpful! Highly recommend.

This apartment is in bad repair and does not conform to the pictures or the description of the listing. It is badly in need of renovation. The balconies are not useable ( blocked off), there is no hot tub as advertised, the bathroom window is taped shut, some of the furniture is damaged. The owner is non-responsive. It is in unacceptable condition. The stove is over 30 yrs old and has to be started with a hand wand. The small tv is on a table in the kitchen. The kitchen equipment is old. One cupboard was dirty inside; another had an open box of cornflakes. We had to stay one night because we had nowhere else to go. We left the next morning after a sleepless night. The owner has not responded to our request for reimbursement (405 euros). We have asked VRBO for help but so far nothing

Beautiful Ortigia

Elena was a thorough and wonderful host. She arranged a taxi to and from the bus and train station for us. Her apartment is perfectly located 5 minute walk from the sea. The restaurant just downstairs is lovely with great food and entertaining waiters. We had such a great time here and hope to return one day.

This property is someone's home, not strictly a rental property. Because of that there is no room to hang clothes.The host couldn't have been more helpful, she made a reservation at the nearest parking garage.

Wonderful location

Our host was very helpful and even pre-booked a parking garage, which was so necessary. The apartment was very clean and the little patio was a charming place to have breakfast. The only difficulty was the bed. The mattress is old and full of ridges and we found it very uncomfortable. Otherwise, I would definitely have given the place 5 stars.

Thank you, Elena!

Elena is the best! She was so kind, funny, and warm hearted. She made us feel right at home. Elena showed us what to see, her favourite restaurants and cafe, and laid out towels and an umbrella for us to use at the local beach. Her place was clean and well organized and she offered us two sets of keys which made things very easy. The location (which is always my main priority) was perfect. My family and I were wondering if we should stay in Syracuse and Ortegia and hands down, we made the right choice. The only thing- don’t have the a/c running when you do laundry but that is to be expected in the historical city center. Elena was kind enough to arrange a taxi to drop us off at the train station. Thank you Elena! We very much appreciated you and your house :)

Our wonderful host, Ms. Elena Sinatra, gave us detailed parking and "getting there" instructions few weeks before arrival. Her hospitality and knowledge of the area are unsurpassed - we got all the right information about where to eat and get a rapid antigen test ( needed for return to the US-). The apartment is absolutely charming and the location can't be better- the spot is exactly why you are visiting magnificent Siracusa. "Secondo piano" ( a bit of a walk-up-) wasn't a problem for us ( even added to the charm!). There is enough of everything, even power outlets, wifi works, a/c unit in every room. I wish we could stay for months. Dear Elena, thank you!

We had a wonderful time in Ortigia . Elena's apartment was in a great location and easy walking to restaurants, shopping and sights. She met us with flowers, fruit and wine and was very helpful. A perfect place to stay in beautiful Ortigia

Elena welcomed us to her lovely apartment as if we were already friends! Before we had even reserved her apartment she had been in touch, providing information and suggestions for our trip to Sicily. We had intended to see a performance at the Greek Theatre Festival and Elena secured tickets for us before we arrived, making sure we got the best seats! Her apartment is ideally situated in the heart of beautiful Ortigia and is equipped with everything needed - and more. Elena had stocked up for us with wine (three kinds!), water, olives, coffee, tea, pasta, pastries etc. etc..... Elena had even put flowers in vases in the lounge and bedroom. The apartment is exactly as shown in photos and the terrazzo is great for breakfast and an aperitivo before going out for dinner. The rooms are all spacious and with air conditioning - very welcome as it was so hot when we were there. After eight nights in Ortigia we had arranged to travel by bus to Palermo. Elena insisted on taking us to a cafe for a granita and a coffee on the morning of our departure and then taking us to the bus station. She is a lovely, warm lady - and great fun! Our stay in Ortigia was wonderful and made extra special by staying in Elena’s perfect place. If you are going to Siracusa, you should stay here - if we go back, we certainly will! Thank you Elena. 😘

Heart of Ortigia

Great stay in the heart of Ortigia. Elena is attentive to all your needs, gave great advice & recommendations and shared her love of the area. Steps from the Duomo great restaurants and a short walk to the beach make this nest above the din a great spot. The terrace offers a great respite for post pranzo and there was a values breeze in May. We hope to come back & share another granita with Elena again!

What a great place!

This property was everything we wished for. Beautifully located in Ortigia, it is in a charming historic building and includes a terrace and a completely outfitted kitchen. Elena was a gracious hostess. She had decorated the apartment for Christmas and greeted us with a basket of goodies for us eat while there. She made sure we were comfortable in the apartment and recommended several restaurants, concerts and other things to do. Her English is not fluent but she will try to talk and is a big fan of google translate. We had no problem communicating. There is a binder with instructions in English on how to operate the appliances and she was always available on Whats App if we had a question. We highly recommend this apartment.

Elena’s apartment is just lovely, especially the terrace where we spent a lot of time. There are beautiful pieces of furniture and the bed is so comfortable. The location is perfect! A short walk to the Duomo Square, a nice breakfast shop and ATM. Elena is an excellent host, arranging a pick up at the Catania airport, leaving roses and wine and homemade pudding for us. I highly recommend this apartment and would go back in a flash! Thank you Elena!!

Centre of the island and close to everything but there are compromises.

This unit is great for a short term stay however please understand it has 60 stairs to climb with your luggage. In the 3 weeks that we stayed you could rarely use kitchen as it is too hot. The kitchen is above a pizza restaurant and the only window opens above that. It also has the only TV in the apartment. There is a portable aircon but that refuses to work in that sort of heat. The outside space is on the same side as the kitchen. It was so airless and hot the iPad came on with its own warning about extreme heat. This is a great, handy apartment but if you love to cook and sit outside this is not an apartment for the summer months and we are Australian so we know when it's hot. The bedroom is airconed and comfortable.

A wonderful apartment in the Centre of Ortegia

We have just had the most wonderful stay for 6 nights in Elena's lovely apartment. We had everything we needed and more for our family of two adults with one 10 year old boy. It is well situated and charming. I would definitely recommend this as a fabulous place to stay

A perfect apartment in a perfect location

Everything about our stay in this apartment was superb. Elena is a delightful host, providing practical information, offering suggestions tailored to our interests, and responding quickly to our questions. The apartment itself is charming, with tall French windows opening to balconies, elegant period furniture in some of the rooms, and a pretty terrace where the only sound is birds singing. The kitchen is furnished with everything one can need for cooking, including pantry staples like olive oil, balsamic vinegar, seasonings, tea, coffee, bottled water, and many other items. There was nothing more we needed for washing dishes, doing laundry, and cleaning up after ourselves. The location could not be better. The building is on a picturesque pedestrian street leading to other pedestrian streets. It's within easy walking distance of every part of Ortigia, which is the oldest part of Syracuse and has fascinating historical sites such as a cathedral that incorporates 2500-year-old columns from the Temple of Athena that preceded it. Structures on Ortigia retain elements of its long history, from the ruins of the ancient Greek Temple of Apollo to the underground tunnels used as a bomb shelter during World War II. A stroll around the perimeter of the island is pleasantly refreshing. You will find a multitude of restaurants and cafes where you can sit and enjoy a stunning view of the blue, blue Mediterranean. And it's an easy walk to the Syracuse mainland over the short bridges. Ortigia is vibrant at night. Outdoor tables at the many eating establishments are full, and groups of people stroll through the streets and piazzas. One of the pleasures of staying in this apartment is being close to evening activity in a beautiful setting. Our six days on Ortigia were like a short trip to paradise for us. Elena's warmth and good humor and the care she took of us (even driving us to the train station) made it all the better. We highly recommend this apartment to anybody interested in Syracuse.

Very comfortable apartment in central Ortigia

My wife and I had a very comfortable stay at this central Ortigia apartment. It was ideally situated for exploring Ortigia and had a very cute little terrace for lunch or drinks. The rooms were attractively furnished and were generous in size. They were also elegant as there were full-size french windows in the lounge and the bedroom. The air-conditioning was effective. The owner was more than helpful at all times and made our stay all the more enjoyable. Ortigia is very beautiful and there are cafes and restaurants in abundance. The food is almost always first-class. We would highly recommend this apartment.

Kleinod im Herzen der Altstadt ♥️

Wir haben die Zeit um Ostern in Ortygia sehr genossen. Die etwas in die Jahre gekommene Wohnung im dritten Stock hatte fast alles, was wir brauchten, ein kühles geräumiges Schlafzimmer, einen großen Tisch und ein Sofa zum Lesen im Wohnzimmer, eine geräumige Küche mit vielen Kochutensilien und natürlich die Innenterrasse mit vielen Pflanzen, auf der wir bereits im März viel Zeit verbracht haben. Gleich unten im Nebenhaus befindet sich eine Pizzeria, die mit ihren Tischen ein Stück der kleinen Straße füllte. Man ist sofort am Dom und im Trubel der Altstadt, zum Meer sind es aber auch nur wenige Minuten. Ein perfekter Platz, um Ortygia gut kennenzulernen. Die Gastgeberin hat uns sehr geholfen, indem die bereits vor unserer Anreise die richtigen Fragen stellte. Da wir mit dem Auto angereist waren, waren wir sehr glücklich mit einem Parkplatz in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Wohnung, dort wurden wir auch sehr gut betreut. Wichtig für Autofahrer ist es aber zu wissen, dass es in der Altstadt sehr eng werden kann und dementsprechend ist die Garage auch nur für kleinere und mittlere Autos geeignet, bereits auf dem Weg dorthin kann es sehr eng werden und die Höhe der steilen Zufahrt zur Garage reicht wahrscheinlich nicht für 2m hohe Fahrzeuge! Man sollte dann lieber am Anfang der Insel auf die öffentlichen Parkplätze ausweichen, Fußweg ca 15 Minuten durch die verschlungenen Wege. Die Wohnung ist ein perfekter Rückzugsort und individuell eingerichtet, Dank an Elena und Valentina.

A convenient place

The flat was super nice and actually spacious, furnished with traditional style. We could find all we need in the kitchen Equipments. The best part was the cute cozy balcony full of native plants. Location was one of the best as you could access to all the tourists attractions as when as you stepped or and to the rest of area like the local market was only a short walk. The host is super nice and helpful we received good advices for exploring the town.

Three weeks in October 2023

This is a very nice apartment with best possible location in Ortigia. Small kitchen with the most necessary things and a lovely terass for evening meals. This is the second time we rent this apartment so we do like it a lot. It's on the third floor with a lot of steps so not the best choice if you have problems to walk. Elena, the host, is very helpful with everything.

Douce et tendre Syracuse

L'appartement d'Elena est vraiment celui où il faut aller à Syracuse. Tout d'abord, la rue ressemble à une allée de jardin, tellement agréable. Puis cet appartement au 2e étage, si clair, donnant sur la rue, balcon dans le séjour et dans la chambre (pièces très vastes) et le top, la terrasse ombragée de plantes et de parasols. Y avons pris tous nos repas dans une tranquillité absolue. Délice ! Supermarché à quelques pas. Elena à même pensé à un caddy à roulettes. La rue donne direct sur la rue principale Via Roma bordée d'une multitude de petites échoppes pittoresques, restaurants etc. On adore. Vous êtes à 2 pas de la mer où que vous alliez. Nous avons gardé le meilleur pour la fin : Elena se plie en 4 pour vous rendre votre séjour plus qu'inoubliable. Elle n'est que charme, gentillesse, sourire, mais toujours très discrète. Avons eu beaucoup de mal à la quitter. En résumé, vacances tellement confort. Wahou +++ !!!
