Poor heating system

We were surprised that we had to go outside to go to the pool. The heat would not go down even when we turned it off. Had to sleep with windows open.

I’ll start with the things we liked. Location- great location with lots to do around it. Room size was spacious. The main lodge is decorated nicely and friendly staff. The major con for me was the extremely smelly and old bathroom. This is an old motel that has been updated. The problem is the bathrooms seem original. The smell is very musty like sweaty socks. I really think in keeping with the rest of the property that they need to update them and remediate the odor. If you are sensitive to smell I would pack some room spray to help eliminate the smell. They do provide coffee in the main lodge area, which you have to walk outside to access,which isn’t that big of a deal, but it would’ve been nice to have Keurig coffee makers in the room. Other than that, we really did enjoy the hotel.

The property is nice. It has gone through a lot of renovations doring the last year . Some details need further improvements, like the most indoor swimming pool and hot tub and change rooms clearly dated and not n need of work. The room we stay in was of good sice, and had a functioning fireplace with all necessary to make a fire, except perhaps some instructions to use it. It tiok me some time to understand I needed to pull the metal cord to open the draft so the fure want die (city boy) take this as an easy suggestion for improvement. The fure outside and slides for the kids in snowy garden were great. Sandals and a bathrobe will be a nice touch. Overall good, we had a great stay.

This was one of our favourite hotels on our road trip! The room was beautifully renovated and the bed was insanely comfortable. They had like 3000 channels on the tv and a microwave and fridge. The main building was ADORABLE and cozy, they had a great common space, and the little shop had great stuff - I got my sister a souvenir from their gift shop and she was obsessed. The property was also great. I would come back here in a heartbeat. It’s also so close to lots of great Stowe attractions and right across the street from my favourite restaurant in town. I’d recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

Pleasantly surprised

Staff was amazing and so helpful. Nice to have a full bar and restaurant on property. Pool spa and sauna also nice. Rooms new and immaculate. Overall a great experience.
