The retreat it self was just as described. It was very well stocked. The firepit was nice and the view was pretty. I would have given it 5 stars but for the price….here is some very important thing to know before you stay there….even though it is lake accessible, you should know that the owner fails to let you know that the hill down to the boat dock that he advertises is sooo steep that you can barely get down or up the hill. There’s no steps, no pavement, & no handrails. The few steps that are down by the boat dock were completely out of the water so we had to step over rocks and drift wood and jump onto the dock. The grass had not been mowed for awhile which meant there were a lot of weeds with bloom which in turn was covered in bees. (My husband is allergic to bees and we had young grandkids with us)We had quite a few bugs up in the loft where the extra beds were for the kids and they were freaked out! The a/c had a problem the whole time we were there and we had to deal with 74-78 degree temps. We were in contact with the owner and he did attempt to get the air fixed but unfortunately it needed a new part so at 10 pm last night when we were in bed on vacation, we had someone knock at the door to drop of a portable a/c. We have given the owner time to somehow reimburse us for some of the stay with all of these problems but apparently he only cares about his livelihood. Make sure you check all this out carefully before u book from him! Hope you don’t get burned!
