4.5 star experience given the price paid

The hotel is located right in the city center - closest to the academy of science, old spring, metro station. Free breakfast is a big plus - it is small buffet - with good options to energize for the day. Room is super clean. The drawback is bathroom is small, drainage has some issues (almost overflow). I request a lamp for doing homework (room was kinda dark), the front desk staff did not have it on hand but promised to have the Maintananc come over next day. Indeed the next morning they came!! Close walk to all the sightseeing spots, good restaurant (the buffet, rainbow factory for bakery), also a supa bar around the corner. Would return if back in Sofia.

I was disappointed. The hotel is dated, old-fashioned and way below the cleanliness level I was expecting. The staff, on the other hand, were very nice, courteous, and helpful.

Great Hotel but a bit noisy road

We stayed at the top floor with the room facing the road. Room was great but street was a bit noisy as you could hear the trams passing by. Also the sound of the airplanes passing over the hotel during their take off was noticeable. All in all it was a great experience with friendly staff and would definitely stay again.

A well situated hotel to explore Sophia

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable although the mattress on the sofa bed lacked substance and we had to put pillows under it so my daughter could sleep comfortably. The breakfast was good. It is well situated near the centre of Sophia. Di

Hotel is in a great location, turn left out of the hotel and vitosha st is 5mins walk with some great bars and cafes. Hotel is very clean, but is very dated and if they want to consider it as a 4 star hotel then it needs updating - but it is more than fine and is great value for money. Breakfast is decent enough and the staff in the hotel are excellent and offer a really friendly informative service. Overall a decent hotel that offers top top value for money

strange additional fees

Any guest in your room will be registered in the hotel books and will pay 10 euros regardless when and how long was in the hotel. Be cautious, contrary to the european hotels, here you have to pay for the tea or coffee from the electric teapot in the room.

Contrary to the request on the booking they checked me into a enclosed claustrophobic dump of a room. After I compained they gave me the requested type of room but the windows blocked by several AC units. Not sure how they got the rating. No conditioner or shower gels provided. Towels were dirty white (probably used thousands of times). The hotel is ancient and the location is also not that great. Not recommended.

Boutique Style Hotel in the middle of Sofia

On arrival check is was easy. The actually use keys on a brass ring. The room it self was comfortable but basic. The bed was OK but only 6 inches off the floor. It has an A/C unit that works well but the hallways are not air conditioned so it was a bit warm when you left the room. I was on the top floor and the elevator worked well. The shower was a bit strange with no full enclosure so that when you showered the water ended up spraying on the floor. Nice toiletries and it was great that the door were solid wood. The room had a refrigerator and a coffeemaker but the coffee is not free so bring some instant with you. Breakfast was the same everyday, scrambled eggs, little hot dogs, fried ham, cold meats and cheeses, assorted breads and a few other items. It is included in the price of the room. This is better than most American low cost hotels and they work hard to keep it stocked. I liked the fresh sliced tomato pieces. They had an expresso machine and teas available as well as juices. So overall, nice breakfast. The biggest complaint is the internet, which is OK but it jumps from good to marginal on a regular basis. You could be in the middle of watching something and it disconnects. I had to sit in the hallways at times to do my wifi calling. Diagonally across from the hotels is a nice market with stores, food vendors and some great bakery products. I would stay here again as the price is outstanding, the room comfortable and the people helpful.

Great location & staff

The hotel is well located, pretty close to the Vitosha Blvd were there's tons of good restaurants and shoppings. The hotel staff was very kind and gave us great info on restaurants (Moma) and tours (free walking and culture tour)! So 5 stars on that. The hotel condition could be better, it needs to be remodeled, our bedroom was very big but everything was old, specially the bathroom, the sink was broken, the AC didn't work very well and the sofa looked dusty. The breakfast was good. Overall my experience was great, the staff is excellent and great location.

Nothing good to say but the location. Worst thing is the service and the staff . We were six people but They gave us rooms with only 5 beds! Staff didn't know how to fix it and the hotel manager as well. Worst thing that the manager referred us to hotels.com website instede of trying to help.

Great Location!

The 1st room given to us has a broken air-condition. They weren't able to find us a fan even and it's in deep summer. We explain to them it'll not be possible to sleep in a stuffy room, and ask them to try help us while we head out for dinner. The nite shift lady was very helpful and polite, and I can tell that she really was calling everywhere and everyone she believed can solve the problem. We got lucky as someone called to cancel a room that nite. The location of this Hotel is fantastic. Walking distance to all the best sights. Parking is Euro5 / nite, do reserve a lot with them. They are also helpful in holding your luggages if you hv to check out before having complete your sightsee in Sibiu.
