Terrible Experience at the St. Regis
This was our fourth stay at the St. Regis complex, one of our favorite beach complexes. However, this condo was a disappointment. Our original reservation was canceled a month before our trip and was thankfully able to book this condo.
The condo is run by a children's cancer charity that sponsors families to visit the beach. A noble and heroic cause. However, the condo is neither suitable nor safe for children.
The oven and dishwasher in the kitchen are outdated. The oven has temperature gauges on the front. We traveled with our two-year-old and we were constantly concerned that she may burn down the complex due to her love for the gauges.
The condo was in no way childproof with knick-knacks, and shells scattered throughout the space causing serious choking hazards. We spent the first hour of our stay safety proofing the room and our toddler still found a seashell to attempt to choke on.
The furniture is dated, and the mattresses can best be described as inhumane. The mattress in the master bedroom was taller in the center and lower on the sides. Meaning, that you would easily slide off the bed. Imagine looking forward to a restful vacation only to find you're unable to sleep. The mattresses in the second room are slightly better, and after a few nights, we moved into this room.
My suggestion for the charity would be to host a fundraiser to update at minimum the oven, and master mattress.
