Chalet Horáren - Five Bedroom Chalet, Sleeps 25

Stay in the heart of the Slovak Paradise, from where you can take easy walks as well as more challenging hikes to the gorges of the Slovak Paradise. You can indulge in cycling and in winter you can enjoy great skiing.

The cottage offers several floors and rooms with a capacity of up to 25 people and is equipped with everything you need. In addition, it is surrounded by a beautiful exterior with a large area for entertainment or relaxation. You will love it here, because you are in the lap of nature in a peaceful and quiet place. The accommodation is great for families with children and large groups, for people who are not looking for the comfort of accommodation, but the beauty of nature, peace and a place to relax.

The cottage is located approx. 3 km from the village of Smižany on the edge of the recreation area Košiarny briežok on the border of the Slovak Paradise National Park. The town of Spišská Nová Ves is about 5 km away. It is placed right next to the cycling and hiking trail. Access to the cottage is through the village of Smižany - Smižianska Maša by car (also by bus) and you can reach the cottage directly on a paved forest road. The road is maintained even in winter. It is located in a quiet area near the forest.



Kitchen and dining room

They are equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, large gas stove,
electric oven and food preparation equipment for 25 people.
There is also a TV and satellite.

The capacity of the building is  25 people.
There is also a common toilet and showers on the ground floor.

-Room No. 1 – 2x bunk bed + toilet + shower + sink
-Room No. 2 – 4x bunk bed + toilet + shower + sink
-Room No. 3 – 2x bunk bed + 3x couch + toilet + shower + sink
-Rooms No. 4 and 5 – attic rooms 3+3 beds

Sleeping in the hay

The apartment is accessible from the month of June, as there is no heating.
It can accommodate 2 people. A separate bathroom is available directly from the room. There is also the possibility of extra beds in this part(two bunk beds).


Here you will find yourself in an incredibly beautiful area. Over time the river formed a mountain gorge with spectacular waterfalls (including those of Sokolia Dolina), which helps make the Slovak Paradise so special. In this area you can find many rock formations, caverns and caves (including the Dobšinská Ice Cave, the cave of Stratenská, The Bear's Cave and Devil's Grotto). Close to the National Park there are a number of cities with historic sights including Smižany (3 km), Spišská Nová Ves (8 km), Markušovce (13.5 km), Spis Štvrtok (9 km), and tourist centers like Čingov (1 km) Kláštorisko, Podlesok and Dedinky (35 km). From the house you can follow trails far into the environment to places like Levoca (15 km), the High Tatras, Low Tatras, Pieniny, Spiš Castle and Plejsy. For a touch of culture you can take trips to the impressive ruins of the castle of Spišské hrad, the walled town of Levoca (15 km) with its mansions dating from the 15th century, or learn about local history at the red monastery of Cerveny Klastor. A visit to the mining city of Rožňava (60 km) or the mausoleum of the Hungarian Andrassy family will surely prove to be a delight. For nature lovers, a trip to the ice cave of Dobšinská (45 km) should also be on the schedule. Aquapark Poprad is only 25 km away. The epitome of a relaxing holiday without having to drive as the landlord can arrange a trip by (mini-) bus, with or without a personal guide. The owner has both the equipment and staff for this.

This is a perfect holiday home for a group. The house lies on the edge of the "Slovak Paradise" national park in the tourist area around Košiarny briežok, Spišská Nova Ves and Smižany. In this beautiful region of eastern Slovakia, steep cliffs and valleys alternate with small gently babbling rivers. A charming area for nature lovers, crisscrossed by numerous trails, with opportunities for relaxation as well as excursions! The spacious house is located at the forest's edge where there are just a few isolated homes. The house is very spacious: a large kitchen and dining room, 5 bedrooms, 4 toilets and 5 showers. Around the house there is a large, fenced garden with a pergola, where you can eat, drink and sit around and chat. There is enough space to park several cars. You can even fly to Krakow (Poland), Poprad or Kosice (Slovakia). In consultation with the owner you can arrange a pick-up service from the airport with his (mini-) bus.

-The building and the area can only be used by guests staying there.
-In the event of a different nature of the event, an individual agreement on the price with the owner of the object is necessary.
-If you stay for more than 3 nights, you can sleep in the hay for free for one night.-
-We do not rent the building to persons without employment and for the purposes of high school rehearsals, graduation celebrations, etc.
-In case of non-compliance with the stated principles, we reserve the right not to accommodate the stated groups, despite the paid deposit.
-Final cleaning is not included in the price.
-Check in: after 15:00 
-Check out: until 11:00
