Staff and location and hotel excellent, so easy to get to train and city, super helpful staff. Breakfast option not great, food barely warm and coffee not drinkable (this is not in the hotel - is a cafe partner adjacent who provide breakfasts)

It's a renovated building so the hallways have a very low ceiling, the floors are uneven even inside the room where you have a set of stairs to get to your tiny bathroom. It feels claustrophobic with windows in my unit facing an interior dead space with no fresh air. It's not designed as a hotel from the ground up so it's quite uncomfortable and has poor design. It seems overpriced as well. The breakfast is at a nearby restaurant that is unprepared to handle guests. I got a tea without sugar and eggs without salt and there is no way to get these basics without requesting them from a man that has 10 other customers to begin helping....

The hotel didn’t have a concierge. I chose the hotel because I wanted to book different sightseeing items, but since there wasn’t a concierge, I ended up walking around and finding things to do on my own. The breakfast restaurant choices weren’t the best, but at least breakfast was available.

Really cool historical building which connects to the nearby area for food and night life bars. Location is awesome since it's connected to that area and only a short walk away to the hawker markets. Only downside was my room didn't have any hot water going to it, but I survived anyways (didn't want to bother changing rooms) - then when it rained an insane amount one day one of the windows had a leak which went into the floor, but I didn't let it bother me and just put a towel there.

Lovely hotel. Amoy has mistakenly been described as "quirky", which usually means having some offbeat theme to distract from the scruffiness: none of that here. "Boutique" is more accurate: unshowy, clean and comfortable, with a discrete charm and in a pleasant area. If you like walking to get the "vibe" of this wonderful city, Amoy is better placed than the expense account hotels, between Gardens on the Bay, China Town, Raffles (if you must), Clarke Quay and (close by) Lau Pa Sat. The staff are friendly (even showing you to your room on arrival), the A/C is good, the shower excellent, and the bed comfortable. No outside noise either, and BBC on the TV! If you have the complimentary breakfast at Genius Central (right outside the inner entrance), you won't regret it - if you like your avocado smashed, here's the place.

The staff at this hotel are all friendly and accommodating. The room is small but it has everything we need including a comfortable bed. The location is convenient as it is just across the MRT station.

Thanks to the Amoy staff, we have had one of our most enjoyable vacation experiences in our 55 years of travel. We were greeted most warmly by Nadyah, Adham, Thomas and Jay on our early arrival at the Amoy. Throughout our four day stay, we were treated with first-rate service, and departed with a warm and sincere send-off (thanks Nadyah) like we have never before experienced. We will definitely be returning to Amoy for our next visit to SIngapore.
