The rooms were clean. I paid more for suite hoping for a better view and was on the first floor with virtually no view at all. The staff said they were fully booked and would try again in a couple days to relocate us but we never heard another word. There were very few staff members that appeared happy in general and the female security guards were extremely rude every single day. Cabs are not readily available at this resort, and the security guards act like it’s a problem to call for one. The restaurant/bar on the beach is overpriced and those staff members are rude too. You also must get to the beach by 8am if you want an umbrella, otherwise Elvis will claim it’s too windy to put one up. Overall, this resort should be a three star at most and I would never go back. The locals in Aruba and Jamaica are FAR MORE FRIENDLY than these locals.

We never did the breakfast, but we did order a room service pizza couple times which was more affordable than eating at the restaurants nearby. It would be nice if there was music around the pool room service was great. Our rooms were clean zero complaints on that. The roads around the property definitely need work, but overall, we definitely enjoyed our stay.

Clean rooms and resort. Staff was friendly. Check-in could have been a little more detailed ie resort map so we knew where courts, towels etc were. Beach was smaller than I had anticipated but there was always chairs available for use. Beach bar food and sports bar food was excellent. Aqua Marine catamaran tour around the island was great!

Simpson Bay Resort very possibly has the best front desk team on the island and beyond. We arrived in the chaos of many canceled flights and all personnel were on their game then and during our entire stay. Bravo since service on SXM seems to have really declined. We were impressed with SB’s employees in all areas and we went to all areas over 4 days. Choice of restaurants and entertainment here are exceptional, with more to find in the immediate area and down the mountain, w/in walking distance. But it is steep so prepare to be a goat. I do think they have some transportation tho we had a car and did a lot on foot. Pools, health club, casino, daily events, variety of restaurants and bars, some shops, really everything is good. You can find it all here. We were at the end of a 3 week trip, stayed in studio. Bed was great, shower really good, had all we needed including a kitchen and comfortable outdoor chairs, but felt it was very dated and space-wise perhaps best for pilots or back-packers. Just an opinion. Enjoyed ourselves. The downside is SB, like so many resorts and hotels on SXM is very dated. Clean and what you need, but dated.

Shuttle should be available as long as the casino is open. Better food - Juliette's was the only good restaurant but its a limited menu. We thought we booked a five star hotel as per the rating displayed. Certainly the price we paid was for a five star accommodation. In our case, it was a ripoff. We arrived to an old looking resort in dire need of a renovation. Old furniture and amenities. The sharp smell of mold rivalled with the awful odour from the bathroom. There are several buildings to this resort and only the Villas are renovated. Many buildings are on a steep hill which will present a challenge. Also, the area overall is too crowded and not enjoyable.
