Canadian here. After 17 days of touring Portugal, this final stop was the icing on the cake. Opulence around every corner! Gated, beautiful location right on the beach. The pool area is exactly what you’d expect from a five star hotel. Breakfast overlooking the beach was magic. For my Canadian friends, think a smaller version of one of our CN hotels. Luxurious.

Stunning property… exquisite dining experience. Extremely attentive staff. Breakfast was amazing, including the views. Pool was very relaxing. Gym is well equipped. Housekeeping was above and beyond… fresh towels often, turn-down every evening with a little treat. Very reasonably priced for the amenities and service! We would definitely return.

The preservation of the original home and its fine architecture, Brazilian wood, and gorgeous hand painted tiles was meticulous and made for a very special stay. We really enjoyed the incredible presentation of our salt crusted sea bass at dinner. The service and food were top notch. We were also delighted with our gracious room upgrade, bottle of champagne upon arrival. Delightful property!

This is a special hotel. The mansion is stunning. The staff are wonderful. The experience at breakfast is amazing. The ladies in the morning do a wonderful job. If you drive make sure you know the code to enter the road in front of the hotel which I missed on the introductory email unfortunately. That is important as you can’t access the road without it. As you drive up you wonder about your choice given the immediate surroundings but once you enter the driveway and mansion all is well. Great experience. If you go you MUST do a private boat tour of the coast with Alvor Boat Trips. This is a requirement!

The service and quality of this hotel is incredible. I would recommend Bela Vista to anyone who wants a true 5-star experience. I can’t wait to come back. Better than many of the 5-star hotels I’ve stayed at around the US.

No sure how this place got its 5 star or maybe its been paying to retain it since 1881 since the conditions of these hotel rooms would suggest that was when it was last renovated, or even cleaned. Upon arrival, you are met with a bombarding strip of drunk loud tourists which the hotel imagines you’ll leave behind once they close an open bared gate. Dont let that fool you, drum and bass are still banging through well into your confined jail cell. 350sq ft has miraculously translated to 200sq ft here at Bela Vista. It makes sense why they dont issue refunds, without the blown out lighting and what I’d assume is facetune for the hospitality challenged, all guest will be rushing out the door when they lay down for a goods night rest only to be met with stains on their pillows. 10/10 would not recommend

This is a very special place: grown-up, sophisticated and the very opposite of a chain. A short walk down to the huge beach. And, a haven from the craziness of the street on the other side of the elegant gates. The breakfast bar is extraordinary. Staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. I rarely say this, as the world is big, but we will be back.
