The Belvedere Hotel in Spiez is a beautiful, clean property with stunning Lake Thun views and friendly staff. However, room cleaning was subpar—hair and garbage remained on beds and floors, and sheets weren’t changed despite opting for daily service. The green initiative is great, but cleanliness shouldn’t suffer. The steep hike to the town/train station was tough with luggage, and missing the paid shuttle led to a 50 CHF Uber ride. A solid hotel, but housekeeping and accessibility issues drop it to 3.5/5 stars.

Perfect lakeside stay

Wonderful location, beautiful views on the lake, mountains and castle. I loved being able to walk down the lake each morning for a swim, using the hotel's access and facilities (dressing room, toilet) right on the lakeside.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with outstanding staff!

This is my second visit to this beautiful hotel! When I arrived yesterday, I was warmly greeted by Carolina, who remembered me from my stay in February. Her customer service is truly outstanding, and she made me feel so welcome. The room was ready, and I was overwhelmed with joy with the beauty of my room, with a beautiful view of the lake. Hotel Belvedere has a lovely lido, where you can sunbathe n enjoy swimming in the lake. The pool and wellness center is gorgeous. The staff is amazing, and I hope to return to this beautiful hotel every year. Thank you Carolina, and entire staff for making this feel like a second home in Switzerland!

Shuttle to/from train station on day of arrival/departure was convenient. Spiez is a wonderful little town. This is the nicest hotel we’ve ever stayed at, and we WILL definitely stay here again!

This place is pretty average but very clean and a big room. The staff was really nice- Everyone was helpful. The bar and the restaurant had phenomenal food, but the amenities weren’t that great. What they consider a hot tub/whirlpool was luke warm (seriously barely warm).. and the outdoor pool during a cold season was also luke warm; if that.

Beautiful hotel with outstanding service!

The Strandhotel Belvedere is truly amazing! I arrived early yesterday, and was warmly greeted by Carolina, whose customer service was outstanding. I was able to check in earlier than expected, and am so happy at this hotel. They have a gorgeous view at ‘Captains Bar’ where I received a complimentary desert and coffee. The wellness area is gorgeous! And then, I had dinner last night at their restaurant. It was truly one of the best meals of my life, and the service I received from Dominique was also outstanding. She and the other server were amazing, and made my dinner experience so special. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful hotel!

Very lovely stay. Beautiful views of the lake. Room was large and very comfortable with a full size tub for soaking after hikes all day. The trek to the train station from the hotel is uphill but manageable. Food at restaurant was average.

Overall a beautiful place and definitely worth the cost. The grounds are beautiful and you have a private area by the lake which is nice along with a beautiful view on the rooftop. The only cons is the beds don’t have real mattresses which make it uncomfortable to sleep and the pillows go flat. Also, we had breakfast twice and the first morning the woman was nice. The second morning I found the other woman to be a bit rude. Lastly, at check in the explain how to get to the private area by the lake. The directions were inaccurate and we found ourselves having to ask 3 times which seemed to annoy them. We finally just asked a grounds keeper who gave better directions than the staff at the desk! You have to go down 7 flights of stairs! Maybe they should consider giving a map to non locals.
