Situated on the Deep History Coast, the Victorian seaside town of Sheringham offers a wonderfully sandy stretch (less than half a mile) backed by a promenade housing a row of beach huts, plus a fabulous array of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Keen walkers can join the magnificent 3-mile cliff-top trail above Sheringham Beach to reach the pretty seaside village of Weybourne 3.5 miles away, home to a quiet shingled beach perfect for an afternoon of skimming stones. Hop aboard the North Norfolk Railway to ride to the Georgian town of Holt (7.5 miles) or head to Blakeney (9.5 miles) or Morston (11 miles) to board a boat trip to see the resident seals.
