My stay at YaTi by Artyzen Hongqiao Shanghai was disappointing due to air conditioning issues and poor communication. When I entered my room, it was 26°C, so I set the AC to 22°C. Instead of cooling, the temperature rose to 29°C. The front desk later explained that the hotel has a centralized system, meaning rooms cannot switch between heating and cooling individually. Due to a cold spell, the entire building was in heating mode, and turning on the AC only made it hotter. Had the staff informed me at check-in, I wouldn’t have attempted to use it. With no way to cool the room, I had to switch rooms at midnight, which was very inconvenient. Despite the trouble, the hotel offered no upgrade, discount, or compensation. Worse, I later discovered my previous room’s toilet didn’t flush—an issue they admitted but should have never assigned the room in that condition. Issues: * Poor facilities – The AC system lacks flexibility, causing discomfort. * Lack of communication – Staff didn’t inform me of AC limitations. * Poor issue handling – Midnight room switch, no compensation, and a broken toilet.

Staff was not very helpful and did not offer any amenities such as toothbrushes/razors even when asked. We only knew they had those things when I saw them give it to someone else. Hotel was clean and area was excellent especially the shopping centre next to the hotel

The front desk at the Yati is excellent, friendly and always are there to assist you. Ellis, Ekko, Lilly, Tracy are amazing. I spent so much time at the bar Andy and Joy became friends, Carter is a great manager at the bar. BUT, it would be awesome if there could be a Yati Happy Hour at the bar! Audrey the front desk manager has a great team. I hope the management realizes that the 5 star rating they get is because of the workers they have at the front desk.
