Great location

The hotel is on a quiet street. walk distances to shopping centers, numerous restaurants and subway. There is a big garden with a nice coffee shop in the hotel. The room is big, but the 2 sofas in my rooms have stains, and the carpet and curtains are old.

Nice hotel in the French Concession

It is a perfect place to stay in the French Concession. Opposite side is the Shanghai Conservatory of Music... a few blocks from IAPM and Uniqlo HuaiHai branch...Quiet environment... building is some distance away from Fenyang Lu. Great place to stay.

Great location and good-sized room for the price

We liked being in the French Concession and not far from subway stop with three lines. Third person in room cost (about 23 bucks) was a lot cheaper than other hotels in area. Sheets, comforter and beds were good quality. Building is 6 floors and not huge high-rise. Go to Lost Heaven restaurant, one in French Concession and one in Bund area. Best Chinese food I've ever had. It is Yunnan folk/ Burmese cuisine.

Peaceful historic estate and gardens on property

Quiet, tranquil setting inside gates made it a nice respite from busy street life, several beautiful corner parks close by, but also close to shopping and expat neighborhoods and nightlife; 10 min walk to subway to peoples square.

Great service--immediately brought anything we asked for to our hotel room. Next to iapm, a large, luxurious shopping mall with amazing food for very reasonable prices and cute shops. Comfortable room; no complaints.

Rewards Redempton Stay

Tucked away off the busy streets and set in a nice garden surrounding. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful. Internet Connection via Cable and Wifi modem available with excellent signal speed. A short walk to a very new shopping centre with a great choice of restaurants over several levels. Our Balcony view was great sunset view behind the city buildings. Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. No noisy traffic.

ok hotel in center of F.C.

Hotel is set up by the Chinese Government. Location is good and in the middle of the French Concession. Internet and international connection is terrible even for Chinese standards. Service, understanding and communication in English language is terrible. I don't deserve 4 star recommendation and I won't recommend my friend to this hotel. For me it was a big dissapointment

hard beds...Standard low end Chinese hotel..Rates their hotel as a 5 star and should be about a 2 star.. AC does not cool down rooms. No English speaking staff. No help with luggage. The list goes on. I had this hotel booked for additional nights and cancelled after first night.

Great location within the French Concession

The hotel is ideally located within the French Concession and close to both high end shopping and the conservatory. While the staff is not completely fluent in English, their language skills are strong enough to deal with most routine requests that guests might have.

despite some flaws, we would return to this hotel.

hotel is hard to find. don't forget to give precise description of location in chinese to taxi driver. hotel does not respond to email communication if you want to ask anything previous to stay. no direct email address and site is obsolite. however, it is a great place to stay, as far as the neighborhood and quiet garden. the room described, two beds, did not come with balcony as stated. front staff english is not great, and not too helpful at times. room is very clean, and a good size. problem with doors that are too heavy. you can be disturbed by noisy guest that slam doors early or late. but price is right.

Lovely Hotel

This was a gracious hotel in a lovely neighbourhood in the French Quarter, near the Symphony Orchestra hall, thus abounding with music schools and shops, and music students. We enjoyed walking the tree-lined streets and the main road with Metro, big shops, restaurants etc was only a block away.In spite of this our room was very quiet and we appreciated the lovely lawned gardens. There was a lot of parking available. The mini bar had a range of beer juices and spirits but no wines in spite of the listed ''Golden Wine''. We called for Golden Wine to be delivered to our room- twice- and each time they brought Gordon's Gin. They had no idea what wine is. The dining room served only Chinese and we could not understand the menu so went elsewhere. Rooms were quite spacious and had a lovely garden outlook, comfortable beds, shower, toiletries and were very quiet. We would return.

Great experience. I always stay in this part of Shanghai. Find the hotel very welcoming and comfortable. Will certainly consider staying here on future trips if on offer through Expedia.
