Our very friendly and helpful host, Raquel, welcomed us to her beautiful home with a few bottles of wine and snacks. We loved the house and yard, and she gave recommendations for activities, restaurants and grocery stores. Unfortunately, that night a major storm came in with high winds, cold temperatures and lots of rain. The high winds forced water and some small living creatures indoors the first couple of nights, and then clouds, cold temperatures and on and off rain continued throughout the entire week. This prevented us from enjoying the beautiful pool and outdoor spaces, and made the indoor spaces less comfortable. Raquel was responsive to these problems, except that a couple of portable heaters for the house would have made us more comfortable. While heaters are usually not needed even in winter, they should be available for any guests unlucky enough to be there during such extreme weather conditions.Unrelated to the weather, we had a problem with the clothes dryer, which Raquel tried to fix, but was unable to get a repairman to come while we were there. We were able to dry our clothes, but had to mop up leaked water on the floor each time. The location is very convenient for the main attractions on the northern part of the island, and very close to the northern airport. The views of the ocean, sunsets and Mt. Tiede were spectacular whenever the clouds lifted and a little sunlight came through. The neighborhood was quiet and we appreciated the parking for 2 cars.
