This property was purchased in May 2016 and the new owner has lovingly transformed it from a B&B into a fabulous vacation rental home. Every year the owner continues to make updates and changes to make this property even more comfortable for your group.
Located in downtown Saugatuck, everything will be at your fingertips. With a selection of fine and casual dining establishments starting less than a block away, shops and boutiques galore, enough ice cream to enjoy a different flavor every day of the year, boat rides and tours, art galleries, sculpture parks, and so much more, you will have more than enough to keep everyone in your party entertained. Just two blocks away you can enjoy the waterfront boardwalk where you can people watch, check out the yearly display of boats, and enjoy magnificent views of the harbor. The Saugatuck Center for the Arts and Mason Street Warehouse are only 2 blocks away and offer Broadway-quality productions all summer long, plus various music and art shows throughout the year.
If Lake Michigan is calling your name, you have your choice of three prime beaches less than 10 minutes away by car. The Oval Beach is Saugatuck's "famous" beach and offers parking right at the sand. The Saugatuck Dunes State Park is a great option for hiking in addition to the beach. Douglas Beach Park is the only free option in the Saugatuck/Douglas area, but it doesn't lack amenities with both parking and restrooms.
Saugatuck Lodge was formerly the Newnham Sun Catcher Inn and the new owner has lovingly turned it into an ideal vacation rental for your group to gather. The main home has 6 bedrooms plus a den, comfortably sleeping 14+, and 5.5 bathrooms. The pool house has 2 bedrooms, comfortably sleeping 6, and 2 full bathrooms. Between the homes, you'll find an expansive fenced-in pool area with a swimming pool, hot tub, outdoor furniture, and a BBQ grill. The covered front porch is where you'll want to be if you love people-watching. Relax on the swing or cozy up on the wicker couch as the world passes you by.
You'll want to make this home your yearly tradition!
Please Note: This is a historic Saugatuck cottage. The beautiful floors are original (some of the wallpaper too), some doorways are a bit narrow, and it's full of charm and character throughout. The swimming pool and hot tub are to be used at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty. The bedrooms above the kitchen are at the end of the line for central heating and cooling. Wall unit AC and space heaters are provided to keep you comfortable. All TVs are Smart so you can stream all your favorite apps.
