Cute Cottage in Downtown Saugatuck with Water view

Great location. Easy walk to town with a great view of Kalamazoo Lake.
This cottage offers many options for your own private retreat. Enjoy the Large balcony and outstanding views of Kalamazoo Lake, the backyard garden complete with water fountain, or stroll to Downtown to enjoy fabulous shopping, restaurants, and art. Also, a Dock is available at an additional cost.

Perfect view of Saugatuck's fireworks over the Lake on the 4th of July, Venetian Festival, and New Year's Eve.

It is 2 bedrooms with a futon in the living room and located overlooking Kalamazoo Lake. It is just a few blocks from the start of downtown. It also has a an outdoor fire pit for enjoying the evenings.

This is a stand alone house. Guests have access to the house, garage and yard.

The unit is set up with coded locks to make checking in and out easy and at your leisure. We are easily accessible if you need help and are happy to answer questions

You can walk to downtown Saugatuck or Douglas from this location. There is also the city shuttle which will pick you up at the driveway and take you to town, oval beach or other places in the area for $.50-$1.00 per person
Check-in is after 4PM
We allow pets with advance notice. There is a $85 pet cleaning fee. The unit is non smoking but smoking is allowed in the outdoor areas.

Weekend away with my daughter

Great location for walking to most places in Saugatuck. It was also easy to drive from there to nearby places. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the deck and small yard.

Moms birthday

My parents owned this house from the late 1990s through 2007. They installed the pond, the landscaping, and an addition to the original house, and a large addition to the deck. It was wonderful to see all those things still in use! It brought back so many memories being there!

I stayed with my spouse, brother and his spouse. We were able to walk downtown easily to all desired activities and restaurants. The neighbors are quiet. The view is nice. The house is well appointed with sufficient dishes and paper products. It was nice and clean upon arrival. The host was responsive to text during the stay. We loved it!

We enjoyed staying at this home because it had everything we needed, and it was close to downtown Saugatuck. It is located in the historic district in a very nice neighborhood. The owner provides many modern amenities and the home is very roomy. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed lake view from deck. Hot water tank temp set too high. Water gets scalding hot quickly, dangerous for all ages. Replace king mattress. Have structural integrity of deck examined. It moves. To be on safe side, we decided 3 adults was a safe limit to on deck at same time.

Close to downtown

We enjoyed our stay here at the house. Was close to to both downtown Saugatuck and Douglas. If your traveling with a small pet, just be aware that the decking rails are far enough apart that a small dog could fit through the rails. I wish it was a little more convenient taking our small pups out to relieve themselves. You have to take them down the upper deck steps, or go around the front, to the back of the house. Their is a very small strip of grass out front near the road that I guess you could use. But that being said, if your not traveling with a pet then that shouldn’t be an inconvenience. We spent most of our time out and about anyways. The home was cooled nicely for July weather. They have a new or newer sectional in the living room that was cozy. The cleaning service could probably vacuum the little critters on the bedroom walls. It’s Michigan, your going to get critters ( insects). They just need to be a little more observant, unless their vacuum doesn’t have attachments? All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

Great location, a bit dated

Great location. Can walk to many things and a peekaboo view of the lake. No lake access. My room was clean but my son's room had a lot of weevil bugs. Cottage is a bit dated and the master bed is huge but needs new mattress (too soft and sags in the middle) and bedframe (squeaks very loudly if u so much as move your legs, much less if you roll over. Son's bed was newer and much better shape. He says was comfy. Had extra blankets, pillows, and towels which is always nice.

Lake Street Cottage

Cottage has a beautiful view of the lake, great location - could walk to downtown Saugatuck from there. Perfect place for two couples - two bedrooms, each with its own bathrooom. New stove (with griddle) and a new side-by-side fridge! Huge new gas grill - perfect for grilling! Huge cable TV!

Great Weekend Away

We really enjoyed a long weekend at this house, enjoying all that Saugatuck and the surround area have to offer. The property was clean with and spacious, with plenty of room for our party to spread out. We enjoyed the deck and the outdoor spaces as well. Small, minor improvements would be: a working toaster, a full-sized coffee pot (Keurig provided), and dusting/cleaning the windowsills and AC units. Overall, this was an amazing and comfortable stay! We will be back :)

The location and property worked out great for the 4 of us!

Communication process with owner was very good. Spaciousness was also nice for our group of 4 Adults. Short walk to waterfront was nice. We enjoyed the deck too. Only minor issues: wifi sketchy, screen door to deck needs replacing to keep bugs out, and grill wouldn’t ignite when we were there. Otherwise we really enjoyed our time there!

Nice Location

I thought the house was a little expensive. I can see that the price was more because of it's location. It was an easy walk to the stores. The other thing I did not like was not being able to cancel the reservation. My inlaws were not able to make it. Our money would not have been refunded if we didn't come. There was an option to re schedule but all our vacation time was accounted for and we were not sure we would be able to get back. I have been using VRBO for many years and have never stayed at a place where they wouldn't refund you.

Outdated house needs updating for the price

Unfortunately there was only a yes or no if we enjoyed our stay. We loved the area will def be back. Good things to mention outside area is pretty good place to watch eagles and hummingbird s. Lots of towels. Pond is full of algae and stunk. Basement stunk and had lots of spiders. Grill was not useable and we bought filets to grill but had to cook on the stove very disappointing. Ants on the kitchen counter. Lights don’t work on the outside deck/ steps and the front door drips water on you as you walk in and out. Beds need to be replaced. Things in the kitchen not working or very cheap. Getting out of the driveway is tricky it’s on a curve. Backyard doesn’t have a fence for dogs that wraps around. No lake access If this was less money per night I would deal with it too pricey for what you got
