We really enjoyed our stay. I was however disappointed that I was unable to adjust the temperature in the room due to not finding the control panel anywhere. I did manage to prop open a window that had a screen, one window was missing a screen.

We arrived early and the woman behind the desk was not friendly. We asked if room was ready she said no. We asked when and she said no. Ok when? Reply was check in is at 4. I said i know and she did not offer to hold bags or should have said she would call us when room was ready. When we came back to check in another person checked us in and was much nicer. The original woman was unfriendly and curt.

The property is in the park and surrounded by nature. Never got to use the outside pool as it closes at 6 and opens at 10. The fitness room is a large closet.

Differed maintenance

Lovely classic hotel and great location that suffers from differed maintenance and not enough staff, esp. in the restaurant. The main elevator has been out of service for months. We had to use the service elevator and make sure the attendant was available. Good beds and nice room but bathtub water was rusty at first and inside of the bathroom door was grubby and paint was chipped.

Inept, disorganized and not worth the price

I knew this was the opening week of the season, but assumed that meant the hotel would be set and ready to go. Not so. Registration was completely confused, the elevators didn't work, repairs that should have been completed (i.e. sunroom) were in full progress. No one mentioned the restaurant was not open - I only found out when I went down for dinner. No information was provided about the park, the resort, or really anything. No maps, information, history... The only thing that was very timely and precise was the thunderous knock on my door at precisely 10 am to ask me if I was ready to check out, which I definitely was. I could have stayed in a motel and had better service. Some people seemed to be really trying and in the ball - I feel for them in a situation with no apparent leadership.
