Enjoy starting out your mornings with a walk to the park with a cup of coffee in hand. When you get home our chickens will provide eggs if you forget them at the store. Santa Paula is a quiet town only 15 minutes to the beach, without the fog and cold wind the beach often brings. You will enjoy the downtown and the small town feel.

Our stay went well. Their was some miscommunication with the cleaners, which made our check in a bit confusing. The house has all of the essentials, but a few things needed to be replaced or tended to. Our daughter really enjoyed the chicken in the backyard, the chicken was not destructive.

Comfortable & Convenient

We were in Ventura County for an event in which our dog was participating. The house was comfortable for us and the garden was fantastic for our dog. Not only was the house convenient for the event (it was held at a Santa Paula school) but there is a shopping centre with a large Vons & an Ace Hardware two minutes away. As noted in the listing there is a chicken in the yard. It and our dog seemed to be fascinated by one another, they spent a lot of time quietly standing nose to nose. Our dog was only disappointed that it wouldn't come out and play with her despite entreating it to do so with several play bows, see attached photos :-) Although the chicken laid eggs while we were there our schedule didn't leave us with time to taste any of them.

Disappointing Stay – Dirty, Smelly, and Poorly Maintained

I do not recommend this property. The house was in terrible condition — it smelled bad as soon as we walked in, and it was noticeably dirty. The air conditioning did not work at all, which made our stay very uncomfortable, especially in the heat. The ceiling was full of spiderwebs and even spiders, which was unsettling and unacceptable for a rental. The entire house felt old and neglected. This property needs serious cleaning and maintenance before being offered to guests again.

Wonderful.

We had a wonderful me visiting family in Santa Paula. Our host was very friendly and my son loved feeding their pet chicken. This property was clean and cozy with well functioning amenities. Made for an easy week away from home with our 1 year old.

Wonderful property

We were in the area to visit family and booked this at a very short notice. The host hsd the house ready for us. Corresponded with us. The house is dated but well worth the money. We found the house furnished very well with all we needed to make our stay comfortable.
