The rooms were huge and clean. Our stay was great. We would definitely stay again. Only thing I would recommend is that they give two room keys because the room key the air conditioner works only with the room key so when you leave, you can’t take your key with you.

Hotel is new, rooms spacey, pool very small. Its located about 3 blocks from where the restaurants are and 6 blocks from the sea. However this area the Centro Historico is very rundown, stinky and dirty. In the morning lots of people sleep in the street. Many lots/places abandoned….

After a disastrous start to my stay at another property, I found El Cactus at around midnight. They got me checked in quickly and even gave me a fruit smoothie. Every aspect of my stay was wonderful. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. For as nice as the property is, the staff is even better. Mariah was a pleasure to deal with each day and helped me out a lot (speaks English if that's your preference as well). Great location as everywhere I needed to go was a 10 minute walk, or a quick cheap can ride away. Will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Santa Marta!

Another wonderful stay at the Cactus - the staff is always helpful and super friendly. We were a bit bummed out that the property discontinued their wonderful breakfast, but there are plenty of options nearby to get good Colombian breakfast, and the nespresso machine in the room is a life saver.

I love El Cactus - everything feels luxurious. The room was huge, the bed was comfy, the rooftop pool was perfect for lounging, & the staff was extremely helpful & solicitous. I stayed here 5-6 years ago & am happy to report it was just as good the second time!

This is a very unique property. The rooms are fantastic. If you are there for a few days though clean towels are additional. Any cleaning is additional actually. No good options on sight but good delivery options they will help you with. The entire area is very walkable.

I LOVED my stay at El Cactus. The staff from every shift were very positive and attentive at all times. The property itself is gorgeous, the rooms are clean, and it is very peaceful. It is less than a 10-minute walk from the center where the bars and restaurants are located.

The hotel is pretty and up to date, but it's the staff that are truly outstanding. Extremely helpful and courteous. Thank you guys. It seemed like most people had breakfast in their rooms, but take it on the upstairs terrace. Beautiful and peaceful way to start the day.

Don’t look anywhere else to stay in Santa marta! The staff here are wonderful. The place is a short walk ( 10 mins) to the hustle and bustle of the beach and the surrounding area. The hotel is quiet and safe! And for remote workers, the wifi is great!!! Both my partner and I were on video calls at the same time no issues at all. The breakfast is amazing and everyone is so nice and helpful. Also the water pressure is great and there’s actually really hot water. Beds are comfy and the hotel is spotless. Can’t wait to come back!! Thank you so much 😊

Beautiful oasis!

On the whole it was beautiful. Our only concern was getting hot water at the times we wanted to shower. The staff is aware and I believe they are undertaking effort to correct the problem. I think only our room was inconsistent.

Cactus has personal attention and care, Maria, Indira y Carlos take great care of their guests. The room is super spacious, beds are on the too firm side, walking distance to restaurants and centro. No parking and driving and finding parking are a challenge. Breakfast is superb, go hungry!
