Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Nothing average about this place.
It is an eclectic mix of the truly astonishing and the astonishly terrible.
Overall, this is overpriced and needs improvement; similarly priced hotels offer far more in terms of amenities and additions (like free breakfast)
The Good:
-Beautiful property
-Lots of geese, ducks, kittens, and even miles and horses to look at.
-Friendly staff who would be willing to do what they could to help if only they had the training and resources to do so (tasks like check-in/check-out, portion estimation for breakfast..).
The bad:
-No air conditioning. Worse still the stench of cigarette smoke and cooking overwhelmed our room that required open windows given the unbearable heat (made far worse on the second floor).
-There is no check-in or check out process. We had no idea where to go when we got there (this was way worse than it sounds).
-No restaurant, no second bed (it’s a pull-out couch), and no “limited smoking areas”- people smoke everywhere (and without AC it wafts into your room!). This is just false advertisement.
-This place is not close to anything.
-The room is bad. Very bad. The fan sits in a corner with no outlet, the bedroom light doesn’t work. The toilet seat needs replacing, the bathroom is quite bad, the linens smell funky, there is no coffee for the pot.
The positives described here and in other reviews just don’t compensate for the major (but easily remedied) deficiencies.
