Fantastic place - one unfortunate glitch

The place is perfect for a couple who would like a bit more space or a small family. The second bedroom is quite small but well appointed. Great to use as an office. The views of San Sebastien from the apartment are amazing. Really, nothing bad to say about the place. A bit hard to find if you’re driving but that’s nit picking. Gonzalo was great - friendly and easy to communicate with even if his English isn’t great (way better than my Spanish). There was just one significant problem that affected our stay - the lock on the door to the building malfunctioned and stopped working all together when we arrived. Gonzalo did his best to address the issue but we got locked out a number of times - the last time in the pouring rain - and he kindly offered to cancel and refund the booking. So we stayed one night and left. Gonzalo is an excellent host and the apartment is brilliant would have very happily stayed but for the issue with the front door.

Not good for old adults

We were four older adults and the apartment is completely unsuitable for this. One room with 2 beds, barely had room for anything else. No dresser, no closet, no hooks for clothes or towels, nothing. There was deliberately no photo of this room on the booking page. One of the beds was folded, i.e. the mattress was on the floor, the other bed on top of it, without an explanation of how it could become 2 beds. In the other bedroom a queen size bed with only one comforter, although I requested a comforter for each person immediately after booking, which was confirmed by the owner but not honored. The bathroom and toilet opened into the room without a door. The showers in both bathrooms had no handles to hold on to, which was problematic for us older people. The heating control had no instructions and was not intuitive to use. It was quite difficult to regulate the temperature. After complaining, the host offered to go to a hotel and pay out the rest of the rent, but we had rented an apartment to sit together, chat and not eat all our meals in restaurants. The kitchen was quite well equipped for this. Conclusion: Acceptable for parents with two small children, too difficult for us older people.

Amazing stay in San Sebastian in an amazing flat

Wonderful apartment with unbelievable views of the Concha and Ondarreta Beaches. Beautiful flat with open plan kitchen and two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Fantastic communication with Gonzalo, really clean apartment. Definitely recommended and will come back every time I come to visit Donosti. Many thanks Gonzalo!

Fabulous appartment with incredible views

Great stay, appartment has fantastic views of the bay, so the short walk up the hill up to the appartment is worth it. Little trouble accessing the appartment initially as couldnt get into the key box, however neighbour had a spare key. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Magnificent views and chic apartment

Firstly, the pictures don't do the apartment justice. It's simple and minimalist but very attractive and very comfortable. The views are outstanding, and the walk down to the beach is easy and convenient. Would absolutely recommend!

Views

The views across the bay are stunning, but you have a lot of steps up to the appartment from the beach or bars. Second bedroom is very small for 2 people (adults). No hanging of towels or clothes. But very nice apartment.

Great place in good location

The place was in a great, quiet location to stay in San Sebastián. The beach is close and the view is unbeatable from the patio. The walk into old town takes about 30-40 mins, but is along the beach. Lots of great places nearby for food and shopping as well. Would recommend this place to stay!

Close to beach, but non-touristy

Nice apartment in a good location. Beach is about a 5 minute walk, but the property is on the opposite side of town from the Old Town. This does mean walking to most attractions (aside from beach) will require at least 30 minutes, but it's a pleasant walk. It also means the area is quiet at night, as it's residential and not catering to tourists. There is a bit of a hill to climb, but the reward is a balcony with a panoramic view of the entire city and beach.

Perfect spot

If you want to be close to antiguo but out of the hustle and noise, this apartment is perfect. Easy walk to the beach and a nice stroll to the old town. Gonzalo was the perfect host and the apartment met all our needs.

Could be better but excellent service.

I love to walk so I found the location to be excellent. We had a car but only used to explore areas outside of the city. We found the address to be very confusing and had difficulty finding the place but the property manager responded to all our inquiries. He was always available and prompt. Yes the view is lovely but the balcony is very small. The size of the apt worked very well. We were two friends, each with our own bedroom and en-suite. It was comfortable. However I would have appreciated more dishes and towels and bedding. I got tired of washing our two cups and two plates, etc. Certainly not deserving of a 5 star rating and would return if the amenities improved.

Great vista and location in San Sebastián

Clean and spacious 2 BR apartment with amazon views looking across the water to old town. 2nd BR is small for 2 teenagers but has its own en-suite. Main bedroom has recently renovated bathroom area. 5 minute walk down hill (10 to 15 up hill) to the family beach in Ondaretta. 20 minutes walk to La Concha, 30 minutes to Old Town. Gonzalo is a fantastic host and was very helpful to ensure we were comfortable and provided recommendations on where to go and how to get around. The location is a little way out of the main action but is an amazing retreat and the vista is well worth it all at any time of day or night. Highly recommend for 3 to 4 people staying.

Impossible to find an apartment with a better view!

Really enjoyed our stay overlooking San Sebastián. The walk from the old town is a good 45 minutes, mostly along the coast but the last 10 minutes are pretty steep (lots of steps may not suit everyone) The apartment itself is compact with the smaller room very tight for two singles. The en-suite in the master bedroom was a little too openplan for my liking (shower fine, would prefer enclosed toilet!) Kitchen well stocked with various pots and utensils but disappointing that although the apartment sleeps 4 the tiny balcony only has 3 chairs so no where to sit together to eat. All communication with the owner was excellent and key collection via wall key safe so no one to wait for.

A wonderful refuge from the crowds

We were delighted with our stay at this apartment. It was spacious with lovely views from every room. There is a path from the backyard to a winding street that brings you to the beach—a five minute walk. We rented electric bicycles for the week and kept them in the garage provided. It was a fabulous way to get around the city, as the many dedicated bicycle lanes make it safe and fun, and having ebikes helped with the hilly terrain. Gonzalo was very responsive and gracious.

This apartment worked perfectly for us. It was clean, comfortable, and waking up to views of the beach was lovely. It's a decent walk to the old city, around 40 minutes, but a nice one along the beach. Gives you a chance to digest all of the amazing food.
