A great experience!

Our stay at the Alaia Marriott was fantastic. The staff, food, and accommodations were excellent. Shout out to Elvis, Joe, and Captain Fito for truly great service. The excursions were so nice and well organized. The room was always stocked and clean, and all of the bartenders and servers were so friendly. Truly an impressive experience. We will be back!

On the first night of my stay 8/16, i learned my room was infested with TERMITES (at least 75 visible). A bug crawled on my neck and they were littered throughout the closet (clothes inside). The staff offered to spray because they were at capacity but I requested another room. With the assistance of the maintenance guy I inspected the new room which had the same layout/location (wooden wall attachment) as the termite infested space and unfortunately, I did not feel comfortable sleeping there. I declined the room and slept on the sofa of my friends suite. I was so embarrassed walking the resort in my pajamas. Housekeeping laundered my belongings and I was promised a different room selection for the next day. Due to capacity issues and my stay preference the staff finally put me an upgraded suite on the 18th. At checkout I was issued a refund for $200 which doesn’t even cover the cost of one night. I did not have a room because Alaia failed to ensure my accommodations were up to standard. I should be issued a FULL refund for the two nights I did not have a room. The guests comfort and preference should take precedence when the property is at fault. While it is a lovely resort with zero beach access and kind staff, I feel robbed. I don’t recommend staying here.

Les algues Sargasses gâchent tout

Chambre magnifique, jolies piscines. Le seul énorme problème : la plage. Il ne s'agit pas d'une vraie plage il y a bien du sable et des palmiers mais, mauvaise surprise, juste au bord de l'eau, une échelle apparaît pour descendre dans la mer. Et surtout, la mer est envahie d'algues Sargasses. Elle est marron et dégage une odeur nauséabonde qui se répand dans tout l'hôtel. On la sent à la piscine, dans les restaurants extérieurs, même dans la chambre quand il n'y a pas de clim. Tout ce trajet pour ça, ça ne vaut vraiment pas la peine. Oui semble que les danses soient présentes de mars à novembre. Nous aurions aimé le savoir avant de partir.

The property was clean and beautiful. The bed was comfortable. The staff were all awesome from the front desk, the pool staff to the security. My only complaint or wish was that they had beach access. However I would definitely stay here again.
