The owner and staff what makes this place way more than I expected. In the beginning I was a little worrie, the rooms are relatively small and have old decor. But a few steps away the neighborhood is vibrant with a number of eclectic, restaurants or places just go sit and have a drink. They are planning to rebuild the property and when they do, it will be one of those hidden gems, in a cool neighborhood, in a city that is bringing itself back to splendor.

The staff was very helpful, and the parking was tight but available. I'd recommend renting a small car if that's an option over a larger car. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area. I'd defiantly go back

The general manager Biren was extremely accommodating and friendly. It is hard to find clean reasonably priced hotels with free parking lots on site in San Francisco, so this is a real gem in the city. Location was convenient and near many restaurants. Neighborhood seemed safe and our vehicle was not broken in to while we parked here, which generally happens to us when we are in the city. We even got to park under a covered area! We will definitely be back. Thanks!

Found a new favorite

The Inn on Grove is a hidden gem! The location is within walking distance of city hall and several performance halls. The property is attractive, clean and well maintained. And the staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Plus there is free parking!

Quiet place, no strong fragrance

I'm allergic to many fragrances and the manager escorted me to an unoccupied room where I detected only the slight fragrance of a disinfecting cleanser which was not a problem for me. Very little street noise made for a quiet room.

There are not enough parking spots for the number of rooms at the hotel. I had to park on the street one night. I checked out at 17:00 two nights before I was scheduled to check out. I was given work and had to cut my stay short. The hotel refused to reimburse me for even one of the 2 nights that I didn't stay... It's more like a motel than a hotel.....
