The hotel was good because of the very interesting history of the property. The staff was excellent. But be aware, there is NO AC in the rooms and was EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

Lovely place and great location. Room was lovely, although we didn't eat here we did have drinks in the lovely garden. Room was provided with 2 fans, one of them being a large dyson one, so brilliant for the heat wave we were having. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

The historic aspect of the hotel is unique and quaint. The proximity to the river, the walking path into town thru the meadows and past gardens is stunning. The vistas of the countryside and flora and fauna were truly spectacular. Staff were helpful, rooms are snug - but clean and comfortable. A memorable stay. Will return & recommend to others. A great base point for visits to local sights such as the Salisbury Cathedral, Old Sarum castle ruins, Stonehenge, and the New Forest area.

Nice place , unfortunately as it was very hot and the window in bedrooom was open , being close to the water 1000s of gnats were flying around the room , all over the bed , impossible to sleep , so I had to leave the hotel at 3am and attempt to sleep in the car
