This property was not ready when we got there at 3, the host told it will be ready in 20 minutes and it wasn’t 40 minutes went by and I decided to go in and check and she wasn’t done yet she said we could come in but she was going to finish up. The host was cleaning the cabin because the cleaning lady had called in. The microwave was extremely dirty it look like it had not been cleaned in weeks. The description on the cabin states that it sleeps 10 and it doesn’t it only sleeps 8. One of the rooms was suppose to have a queen bed and a futon and it was missing the futon. The host told me there was two twin mattresses in a closet that could be used. Those mattresses are so sold that when you lay on them you actually touch the ground because it’s out of springs. The mattresses on the beds are also worn out, when you lay on them you sink to the middle of the bed. The sink in the master bedroom was stopped up. I was suppose to get a credit because the cabin was not ready and I never received the credit. Additionally they wanted to charge me an additional $500 credit for having an additional 4 people according to them. I rented the cabin for ten people and that’s what we had. The host stated that there was an additional charge for the extra people after 6. I was very disappointed with this property it was not what I expected.

Horrible host
Place was dirty, games all over under the couch and had not been swept. I’m guessing she was watching cameras or had people watching us because she said we had 12 people here. We had other friends in town that had come over over. Said we left a mess and dirty dishes everywhere and that we checked out late. That’s is so incorrect I sent her pics of how I left the place. To begin with I had to call VRBO to even get her to give us the code to get it. Don’t get me wrong house is nice but not clean. If I could I would post the pics of how I left it, hell if u ask me I think we left it cleaner than we found it!

You get what you pay for
Unless money is an issue, I would not recommend staying here. First, the house is dilapidated. When we first arrived, I noticed the stairs to the house felt like they could break at any moment. Then, one of the wooden beams to the patio broke off as we entered the house. Second, the house was dirty. In the kitchen, we found a snickers wrapper, a half eaten nutrigrain bar, and there was trash under all the furniture. Third, and most important to me, the internet was abysmal. We tested the internet speed and we were getting less than a megabyte per second. We couldn’t really watch tv because of this. The last major issue I had was with the property host. During the stay, she contacted me to request I pay an additional $120 because we had brought an additional person to the house. I don’t know why she thought that or if she was keeping tabs on us but she was wrong. Our original reservation was for seven adults and three kids. Because of covid, only four adults and two children went. It very much felt like a cash grab by the property host. There were other issues with the house but I’ve outlined the worst ones. Overall, I can definitively say that this was my family’s least enjoyable experience going to Ruidoso and it is entirely because of this house.

I wish I would have know that their was no air conditioning prior. The location was over all nice just a bit hard to find. Everything seemed okay until some random man came by the area and decided to start taking pictures of us and when we asked him if he needed anything he didn’t say anything and drove off! After that we no longer felt comfortable at the fact that he went, took the pictures and we had children playing outside . I will make sure to never stay at that place again or have any family member stay there because the whole time after we felt like we were being watched.
