Extremely cute hotel almost right inside the main market square. Had a great breakfast to start the day and they even had a great private parking area as well. The husband and wife that ran the place were extremely friendly, very attentive, and beyond helpful. Would without a doubt recommend a stay here if you want to spend the night within Rothenburg. Of course everyone we interacted with in the area was also very pleasant as well.

The owners are so friendly and helpful. We were treated like family with smiles and good suggestions of things to see and do. The room felt upscale. Breakfast options were five star. Overall great experience with Hotel Sonne.

We arrived late and received a wonderful and warm welcome from the owners' daughter. She made us feel so welcome after a very long day and got us checked in quickly and easily. The next morning we met the owners and both were also very warm and friendly. We had a great breakfast in a beautiful breakfast room. This was most definitely the best stay we had out of the 11 hotels we stayed in on this roadtrip. If we ever come back to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, this is where we will be staying.

I loved how it was right in the village. The staff was so friendly! The room was smaller, but I was alone and it’s all that I needed. The bird was comfortable and TV worked. They even gave me a bottle of water. The windows were new and I was able to open them. It was nice. They had a fan in the room as well. I love the outside patio! I would definitely go back.

Hotel Sonne was outstanding. In the middle of town, close to everything. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. There is no elevator, so be prepared for a few stairs. You can get a dronk from their bar and take it upstairs to a very quiet and private terrace. Highly recommended.

I'm sure there might be friendlier hotels in the world, but I don't see how. This was, by far, the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. Everyone was helpful and exceedingly polite. The rooms were great and comfortable. They had AC! Breakfast was fantastic. Communication was great. All reasons to give the hotel 5 stars. But then there's the location. Just steps away from central Rothenburg and less than a minute's walk the the market square. 5 stars ( but only because I can't give it more).
