Overall a good experience. Minor issues of no soap or moisturiser in bathroom. Breakfast was disappointing as poached eggs were finished and weren’t refilled until after I had eaten the rest of my cooked meal.

Just 1 night was memorable

My mum uses a Zimmer and the acces for her limited mobility was amazing. The staff truly went over and above from the second we walked in to the bar, restaurant, concierge, restaurant, spa etc.... I don't know how they get to know everyones names as so many people go through the door every day. Everyone was exceptional. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Food was out of this world. We weren't bothered too much yet, restaurant seemed to know just by a look, that we were going to ask for something or needed something. The place is warm, airy, fresh and the atmosphere was cheerful. Thank you so much. You made my Mums day and night.

Perfect location and setting but overpriced

I would love to give this hotel a 5star review but unfortunately it was lacking in quite a few ways. The location and setting is superb. Newcastle is a fantastic town with amazing scenery overlooking our gorgeous mournes. Check in was perfect reception was so friendly and informative. Our room looked the part but the bathroom was a bit underwhelming and could do with a refurbish. However is was clean and good shower. The spa area was also underwhelming.. sorry. We waited until family time was over but the swim noodles where still lying about as was bits of food,plastic cups and a used plaster on the floor beside pool. I think they should consider a more eco alternative to the plastic cups at water fountain. The sauna and steam room was lovely with an amazing sea view but you have to look past all the parked cars. I don’t think the £315 price for room was justifiable unfortunately Breakfast was really good. Loads of Choices and great quality food. Waiting staff were really attentive and courteous. Breakfast room was stunning!

Well below par.

I booked slieve donard as I wanted to treat my wife to a comfortable weekend as it was our anniversary, and I’ve heard many good things about this property. Unfortunately for us it wasn’t anything like that. The girl at reception was rude as I checked in, I put it down to having a bad day, but she was the same every day. (Our booking was 2 nights) when we went to our room it was nothing like what was on the hotels.com Website. There were broken tiles on the floor, stains on the walls, musty smell. Etc.. So I tried to call reception, but the phone didn’t work. So I went down to reception, and waited quite a while before the receptionist came out from the adjoining room, I told him ( a different receptionist) I wasn’t happy, and was given another room. I could go on and on, but frankly I shouldn’t be doing this . As i rarely complain. I rate it 3 stars, Not worth it.
