amazing.......greatest place. Do not rent a house here.....just because if you are not used to this island, getting around, getting groceries, even gas is hard. After a flat tire because the roads are so bad and remember you are driving on the other side of the road, this is your one stop shop. And you don't have to deal with VRBO owners who think they are the "wisdom council" here on the island. And that they own the beaches and ocean. They don't. For the same price, you get clean towels, food, clean bathrooms, no bugs anywhere, big pool....rather than a tiny or no pool. You can swim at night. Lights in pool. So when you get out of the airport go left, not right. Trust me.

The Grand Isle has made our list of places to definitely return too. The staff, food, cocktails, spa, and beach were fantastic. It was nice to have the option of a golf cart to drive around the property which includes a marina. No place is perfect. A few draw backs we experienced were our bed needs to be updated and the power goes out almost daily. We ended up purchasing 2 battery powered fans which was helpful.

We absolutely loved this resort. Our 1 bedroom ocean view villa was spacious, very comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed eating breakfast out on the lanai. We ate at 2 of the 3 restaurants multiple times and they were excellent. The gym is top notch. It has alot of equipment and is very well maintained. We enjoyed motoring around the resort on our golf cart and hanging at the adults only pool. We’ve done a number of trips to the Caribbean and this is, by far, our new favorite!

The suite was spacious, clean and comfortable. The AC was excellent and parking was convenient. Staff was friendly and helpful. The two pools were clean with plenty of chairs. The beach was beautiful and clean as well. The restaurant food was good...especially the pizza and burger. You may or may not get used to some flies visiting outdoor eaters. This happened at other outdoor restaurants on the island as well. Overall, we would return here to enjoy what Exuma has to offer.

The check-in process is wonderful. Everyone is, especially the waitress at the 23 North (Hilton) restaurant. She's fabulous and professional. She made us feel good. The barbecue guys are also nice and very kind to us. And most importantly, the room was very clean 💯% and the girl was very nice. I love that place. My wife and I stayed 4 nights M-Th. The property is a large gated Villa community and our One Bedroom suite was very spacious. The property was extremely clean and staff was friendly and accommodating. The Palapa restaurant was the only dining option on Monday and Tuesday as the Jerk Hut and 23 North are only open starting Wednesday. We rented a golf cart for $30 per day to assist with getting around the community and was well worth it. We spent the majority of the days on the beach and chairs/umbrellas are set up daily along with clean towels. The service was nice at the restaurant yet a bit on the slower side which we did not mind. The closest convenience store is a 7 min drive and a larger grocery store is about 10-15 taxi drive. If you want food/items delivered to you; you can request the items 72 hours before arrival. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Looks Like a Resort, Feels Like a Letdown

We chose Grand Isle Resort for our first trip to Exuma, expecting the convenience of a hotel—onsite dining, a gym, and some flexibility—but it fell short. The villa was spacious, though the promised “ocean view” was just a distant sliver. The gym was small with outdated equipment, but usable. Palapa, the poolside restaurant, offered bland, repetitive menus; conch fritters were doughy, and the Bahamian snapper was mostly bones and oddly deep-fried. The mahi sandwich was the only standout. 23° North was a birthday dinner disappointment. The steak was unevenly cut and inconsistently cooked, the grouper was just okay, and despite noting the occasion, we had to ask for a candle. Service throughout the resort was strong—unfortunately, the food didn’t match. One major letdown was the resort’s rigid 11am checkout. Unlike most hotels, they refused any extension. Worse, “bag storage” meant leaving luggage in plain sight by the front desk—completely unsecured. For a resort, this felt surprisingly unaccommodating. Also worth noting: the atmosphere leaned heavily family-oriented, with kids everywhere—not ideal for couples seeking a quieter stay. Next time, we’ll choose one of the many oceanfront private villa rentals. At least expectations there are clearer—and often better met.
